Swans v Pompey : An odd connection & pre match chat on 10:25 - Nov 30 with 535 views | dobjack2 | My memories of the 1984 game are that Mark Hateley was pretty much unplayable, Alan Biley scored a hat trick and we had a really good turnout behind the goals that kept singing even though we were getting hammered on the pitch. Jaffa's the fattest - fattest in Europe. Nobody, fans or police, was prepared for what happened at the Bognor game.

When I think of clubs that travelled 3 hours or more and came looking for it down the Vetch Middlesbrough Leeds, Stoke, Chelsea and Bognor Regis are the main ones that spring to mind. There were others but those 5 dtand out for different reasons. I was in the Paxton when the rumour started that there were riots going on before the Bognor game and didn't believe it. Bognor didn't have a reputation so why would they come here and perform big time? One of my mates said that he wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Pompey looking to say hello for our visit to their place. For them to do that we must have really would them up when we went to Fratton Park.
