3-1 up. Not an exaggeration to say it could be 6 or 7. Rodney alone will be disappointed not to have a couple.

Tremendous attacking play. Of the new players Burger, Henry, Allarakhia and TAR impressing.

How many changes at half time?
Other scorers?
Etc...

Thanks.

Loads of subs in the second half for both sides.

Mitchell2, Henry, Rodney and McBride the scorers.

This is a different Dale from the one seen last season. Anyone thinking McNulty only plays one way and it’s boring is wrong. Whether it’ll always be as good as today is doubtful but we look like a team with a lot of potential and some really good options to fit within the new system and way of playing.

It would shocking if that display isn’t given a bigger audience. Some of the play that led to missed chances would sell season tickets to the doubters.

1045 there with not many from Salford. Another absolute cracker by Henry.

Are you not entertained!

As 442 said it should have been at least 5 at half time if not more. The football was a joy to watch and we cut them open, almost at will. For the second week running we didn't look like the non league team.

The players should take a lot of confidence into next week.

2 changes from Carlisle game - Burger for McBride & East for Gilmour. Subs included Alfa (thanks IOMD getting a person's name right is much more than pedantry), Gilmour, McBride, Barlow, Henderson, trialist.

Built on last Sat playing 3:4:3 - another screamer from Henry who I think also knitted in M/F better today; Gordon outshone Beckwith defensively although Beckwith's touches in & around the box in the first half were encouraging. EEL had another solid game as did Adebayo-Rowling - good to see he coped well when switched to LWB when the subs came on. Even McNicholas' long kicks (to feet) worked better to day.

Again lovely progressive triangles around the edge of the box carved Salford open regularly and Allarakhia was often at the centre of those. He finished up playing as a striker.

Rodney, Mitchell and Burger pressed well, made some great runs and were often found by short through balls between CB & FB - Burger looks a real asset.

Icing on the cake was Henderson slipping McBride in for the 5th

One disappointment was Gilmour coming on as a sub failed to influence the game in his usual way.

It all sounds promising. It's what happens when points are at stake and teams set up with real defensive intent against us that'll matter

Haven't seen any of the pre-season games (don't really "do" them) and won't be making the trip to Boston, but if we come away from there having put on a display in line with what's been seen so far - then - i'll start to feel encouraged, and of course i'll be at the opening home fixture to see with my own eyes

I thought Gilmore was excellent when he came on, he rarely has a poor game. His first touch and ability to turn and redirect the play was in evidence again, even though he came on as sub. McNulty has a conundrum with the midfield because Gilmore, East, Henry, Barlow, Mc Bride are all more than capable. Some excellent performances today, no need to overplay in our own half anymore because our strength is playing in and around our opponents penalty box. We gifted Salford two goals today, that needs cutting out.

Ody Alfa (edited) 25, winger/WB, ex-Chelmsford, 1 year deal to Summer 2025.
Don't recall Trialist B having any great impact - others might.

The first half last Saturday was a joy to watch. The first half today was one of the best Dale performances in many years . The move that set up Adebayo-Rowling to miss a sitter would grace football at any level. Seeing him and Allarakhia dominate the wings (they'd probably get cropped in an NL game) was wonderful entertainment.

Of course, everything changes second half with multiple substitutions in friendlies, but I hope we have seen a Dale team that can seriously impose itself on the National League if it plays at its best.

Well done Jim and the players. Marvellous.

Great entertainment yesterday, and a really refreshing attacking attitude from the Dale. Really like the look of Burger and especially Allarakhia and although it's a friendly, we made Salford look a poor team for long spells. Fantastic goal by Henry for the second week running and it really could have been 6 or 7 with ease.

My only slight criticism would be that we caused ourselves a few problems when unnecessarily short passing out from goal and in defence. However, there was none of the "to you; to me" from last season, so it's a small point.

The pitch looks as lush as ever and there is bit of a feel good atmosphere around the club, so well done to all who made it possible.

Good to see Colin Garlick at the ground...shame he's working for Salford these days instead of us.

Sounds and looks very encouraging for next weekend. Let's hope for a positive start!

Interesting to hear Karl Robinson post match playing the pre-season defeat down and saying that Salford could have been 2-0 up and were by far the better team in the second half ? Could be a long season for them.

Do you think the starting eleven will be the likely starting eleven at Boston next week or do you McNulty may make odd changes to the team that starts next week.

We won the first half 3 - 1 and the second 2 - 1 He is talking rubbish...Some of the build up play first half was devastating...From the moment they scored there was only one team in it., and it wasn't them....They had more ball after the break but did sod all with it....Headless chickens was mentioned in the Sandy...

Id guess that the choices are Gilmour/East. Burger/McBride

Other 9 have started both the L2 friendlies

Though it could be Henry, Gilmour and East playing a bit further forward.

Think it’s between East, McBride and Burger for the final spot.

The bench will be quite strong with two of those, Henderson, Barlow, Alfa & Ferguson as well as Brad Kelly.
