Pilgrim and Bare It - Plymouth Vs QPR Match Thread 07:48 - Apr 7 with 55497 views | Spaceman_P | Is a Devonshire pasty better than a Cornish one? too much cider in your glass, too much petrol in your car. The long trip on a Tuesday night, doesn't sound good on paper, the relegation battle is nigh. Marti will be fuming and Xavi (the calm before the storm). Serious words will have been had, hopefully heads will have been smacked (not with Ilias' rocks mind). Sorry Monkey, I am going to take the reigns on this one. You did very well, a great effort, the team let you down yesterday. How can they disrespect both Monkey and Marti in the way they did? Not feeling too confident with this one, plus I will be working and will miss the stream. But you know the guys, they do have it in them. But we can't underestimate the Country bumpkins. Plymuffs 0 - 1 QPR The goal coming from either Willock or Chair, just because they owe us one. Although I would like to see the Danish Messiah finally grab a goal and hopefully resurrect the teams spirits. tight game!! tighter than discos' prose and tighter than Taylor Richards' agent.

Pilgrim and Bare It - Plymouth Vs QPR Match Thread on 22:23 - Apr 9 by ted_hendrix | Why should Hull be on the beach? they'll be a bloody difficult team to get anywhere near. The Hull fixture will be tough, I cant see us getting anything there, thats what makes tonights f uck up all the more annoying and that's what that was tonight a f uck up. Once again we have failed to beat a team who like us are at the wrong end of the table at the wrong time of the season. |
Hull have won once in their last seven, we're capable of getting a result there.

Frankly, I was being generous given that he set up Smyth for what should've been the opening goal, and he had a hand for the actual opening goal. Other than that, he was anonymous. Other than the two what should have been assists you mention, there was another headed back from far post that Field nearly got on the end of, good hold up play, won headers, left an elbow on big centre half, but, but, what else did he do?

Pilgrim and Bare It - Plymouth Vs QPR Match Thread on 22:40 - Apr 9 by ParkRoyalR | For those who watched the game live Dykes put in a good performance tonight, pressed their defence for the full 95 minutes, forced errors, won possession for Smyth's sitter, won headers and held the ball up very well. Reason we grew into game + dominated 2nd Half, must start for remaining games as light + day to Sheffield Wednesday performance. |
Genuine question - are you his agent or a close family member? Week in, week out you come on here to defend Dykes. I kept faith with Lyndon long after those around me at the match(JU) and those on here had given up but… really? How can you still bang the drum for him?….

The season is nearly over and I think a few players will leave of their own accord. With Profit and Sustainability our budget next season will be far better than this one. This season's transfer windows have been good which bodes well for the future although that search for the elusive decent striker may well continue. |
Explain to me how the transfer windows have been good? Take Steve Cook out of the equation and I’m not seeing it Begobitch - couple of decent games but as the season has gone on he’s decaying quicker than a carcass in the Nevada desert Fox - not done much really. Injured more than plays Colback - hot and cold. Hot headed and cold stone injured for suspended by and large Hodge - scored with his first touch for the club but done square foot of naff all since Anderson - can’t take away his assists but looks like a player who’ll never be fully fit to me Hayden - not sure what I make of him; one I think I’m probably wrong on Frey - nightclub bouncer at best, decent in League One if fit but probably did have good instinct when younger Maybe I’m being harsh after a few drinks and a draw that feels like a defeat but I just don’t see the club has done tremendous business

I went to the game + watched him + the team live in front of me for 95 minutes. No Armstrong no whacking the ball long over the heads of the 10's like against Wednesday. No Frey and no whatever he did against Birmingham City, 1 contribution I counted in 60 minutes. Dykes linked our attacking play tonite and we created 4 very good chances + numerous half chances - compare that to the Wednesday game. Dykes has to play the full 90 for the run in as we are a better 'team' than when we start Armstrong or Frey. I say it's as I see it, and not just from one angle on TV.

With the budget we had available our transfer business has been very good I think. Add in the appeal of joining a struggling club I fail to see how we could of done that much better. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If we do get a result at Hull then I'll be ecstatic, after some 40 odd games this season and however many games last season we still do not have the Individual who can deliver the football thing into the back of the oppositions net on an almost regular basis. On top of that we have a Legoland replica windmill for a goalkeeper and an OAP for a 'Let's keep It tight lads' substitute when we really do need to keep It tight. So do excuse me for my lack of confidence regarding Saturdays visit to Hull City, In the unlikely event that we do get some sort of result Saturday then feel free to come on here and blow 'told you so' raspberry things In my direction.

Pilgrim and Bare It - Plymouth Vs QPR Match Thread on 23:07 - Apr 9 by ParkRoyalR | Dykes didn't get that horribly wrong, defender did well to get his body in the way but Dykes didn't give it up and managed to get his head around it and put it back into the 6 yard box and was unfortunate Field couldn't get on the end of it. If our fans can't see the improvement in our performance tonite compared to that u14's kick + rush we played against Wednesday not sure what I can say. |
We were shocking Saturday and shocking tonight….just in a different way . Was we better than Saturday … a little …but once again the bar is so low that a very slight improvement doesn’t mean we should all now bow down once again at Lyndon’s feet . He is a striker . Ultimately we pay him to score goals . Many strings to the bow, but the bottom line is that’s how he’ll be remembered and that dictates his value in the market . It’s non existent . Just like his goal threat . And he’s the best we’ve got !!! Shambles [Post edited 9 Apr 23:15]

Oh, I completely agree that today's performance was an improvement on Sheffield Wednesday, but that's hardly saying something as we stank the place out on Saturday. It still doesn't make Dykes' performance tonight "outstanding" unless, of course, the criteria is based on whether he successfully elbows centre halves.
Pilgrim and Bare It - Plymouth Vs QPR Match Thread on 23:17 - Apr 9 with 1791 views | BrianMcCarthy | Agree that Dykes was improved in himself, and an improvement on recent performances by our strikers. From what I can see, we're all saying that. But the deflected Smyth cross that sailed across goal was cleared with ease with Dykes on his heels six yards away, and I also thought he should have done better with the header that he nodded across to Field, either heading it for goal or getting the header to Field right. Both of those instances were serious goal chances. Nice to see an improvement and he should probably start against Hull, but any notion that he was very good or outstanding seems charitable to me.

Apologies I came across as digging you out - not meant. Agreed in terms of what we could do and I suppose it’s all relative It’s amazing Marti managed to persuade anyone to join and to be fair Anderson and Hayden are an upgrade. You can argue without the extra bodies we were gone in any case. I still think the clubs approach to transfers is beyond amateur hour. This should be a club where decent, fit, up for it players really WANT to come and play. I just don’t see anything other than “you’ll do” in our stance. My final argument against myself though…. If we stay up then they have been decent additions!!!!

Did you watch the game?. His work in both the boxes needs to be recognised. The lay off for Smyth? Or do you just hate him because of course its Dykes? I'm not his biggest fan, but he is the only CF we have. Armstrong is pony, Frey is injured, hates us & England or just doesn't fancy it who knows? Ok. Outstanding, maybe OTT. However compared to Armstrong on Saturday, it was a fking mile in front.

So he deserves to start because he elbowed someone? And as for ‘winning headers’…he won 1 which he flicked on for Albert late in the game . Utterly delusional |
Won 1 header, did you go to the game, seriously did you go tonight?

It's not groupthink, Parky, it's my own opinion. You're naturally entitled to have a different view, and I appreciate that you had a different physical view than me tonight, but please don't tell me that I'm not capable of forming my own opinion. You're better than that.
