Who's drinking what tonight? on 21:33 - Oct 27 by Dorse
Happy Shopper Guatemalan liebfraumilch (£4.99 a gallon from Home Bargains). Room temperature. From a chipped mug. In my pants. In the dark. Listening to gamelan covers of Morrissey. Crying.
(Actually, I'm in Budapest having a lovely time. Had some reasonable beer - Edelweiss Hefe etc but the Czech pilsner have been the stars of the show so far. Hungarians seems to love Gin. And Aperol, weirdly. Who knew?)
On a G&T myself after finishing a nice Viognier. Spot of Pernod in my Gin, lip-smacking good.

We’re going back to Budapest in Feb. Pm me a couple of top tips regarding where you’ve been Dorse, when you get a minute, old boy.
I still think you are at home in your pants, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. Bad thought, that.
Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I’m just on the way home from a whisky tasting session with my old man (his birthday present from a while ago). 18yr old single malts. Lovely. Pub crawl pre-game tomorrow too.
Planning.
Not popular with the better half, mind.

my doc recommends 1/2 a bottle but given our struggles I suspect the whole bottle will be needed....
I come to bury Ainsworth, not to praise him....which, given his obvious limited capabilities seems a little cruel, especially to one who we all love so much. However no man is bigger than the club so I'm hoping he'll be gone by Weds.
To be fair, I'm not too worried as to who follows, its a lottery and I'm sure the management choice will be just as ill informed as mine.....onward and downward.

Recently I was looking for the lyrics of an old vaudeville song from the 1930s – some of which now seem strangely appropriate to this thread.
One evening in October When I was one-third sober And was walking to my house with manly pride My feet began to stutter So I lay down in the gutter And a pig came up and lay down by my side
Then I sang "It's All Fair Weather" And "Good Fellows Get Together" Till a lady passing by was heard to say "You can tell a man who boozes By the company he chooses" And the pig got up and slowly walked away

That's SEVEN weeks..... 49 long days...1,176 hours.... and if I was counting 70,560 minutes.
I decide to watch the second half today and - boom - Andre Cun+in Dozzell pushes me off the wagon and I'll be reaching for the bottles of Poretti this evening. How anyone can follow this club and be teetotal is beyond me.
Hello booze my old mucka....
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

My good Spanish friend Don Rioja is coming to my aid at the moment. My Herefordshire mate, Henry Weston, is waiting to take over when Don Rioja is exhausted.

A short cut to oblivion needed. I'm staying in tonight and have some bottles of Adnam's Broadside and a couple of St Peter's Plum Porter which sounds awful but is actually quite nice. Plus a bottle of Genfiddich just delivered by Amazon.
