It's great being QPR right now, isn't it? The only time we get to boast is when a Crystal Palace player is capped by England.

If he was still Rangers he’d go down with gout.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Another day, another nice article about Eze.

QPR related, nothing we don't know, a nice read none the less.

I hope Eze gets 20 minutes.

Seems to have been wheeled out by England's media savvy team.

And would wrankle a little if he does not at least get some kind of debut.

If England winning easy after 60 minutes, can see he will be brought on otherwise possibility he won't see action.

Southgate at his safety first worst…. against Malta FFS.
Totally predictable that he would not start Eze thought.

Surely Eze’s nailed on to get minutes in one of the games to ensure that he plays for England ahead of Nigeria. Southgate seems to rate him (and rightly so) so it makes sense.

Be strange if he don't get a run out, if only to stop the chance of him being poached by Nigeria
Think he will get a run out and hope he does well the lad

Agreed, it's frustrating.

4-3-3 with 3 defensive midfielders is frustrating. Good job the opposition won't be up to much.

Have we forgotten what happened when Southgate buckled to public opinion and played a more attacking side at home to Hungary!

Safety first has served him and England very well over the past few years.

I love Southgate, but that's the most Southgate selection I've ever seen. A midfield three of two CDMs and a right back. Baffling he hasn't started Eze tonight.

Bare bones.

You've got to give Malta respect, you need a solid defence to keep them to nil, no room for flair players.

Which makes starting Maguire even more baffling ;)

Don’t think I’ve ever been so interested in an England line .
If there 3 up by half time we can start counting the cash.

I love him to bits but Eze was always going to be a sub tonight. Southgate will use him though I’m sure.

Not sure if you are being serious: Hungary are classes above Malta who are one of football’s true minnows.
Totally predictable he would choose a conservative better the devil you know line up tonight: he can’t change and we will never win a tournament with him in charge.

The point is that Hungary stuck four past us when Southgate did what you wanted and picked a more attacking line up. It didn’t work. But you’ll never acknowledge this as it doesn’t suit the agenda that Southgate is overly negative.

The reason Southgate sticks with this approach/system is because it’s been largely successful throughout his reign and chopping and changing every game doesn't work when you only get circa 10 games a year with a group of players.

And let’s not forget that we were a couple of penalty kicks away from winning a major tournament under Southgate.

Think many people in general and there's definitely a few culprits on here, never happier than when they are moaning

Never understood the Southgate bashers!!!

SEMI FINAL, FINAL, QUARTER FINAL in consecutive MAJOR TOURNAMENTS

Best return apart from Alf Ramsey.

On occasions with better players available to us, we often struggled in qualifying.

Hey ho.

Dreadfully lucky goal by the right back in midfield!!

3-0 and England are in 3rd gear under absolutely no threat whatsoever.
Perhaps bring on Kalvin Phillips for Maddison at half time to shore up the midfield just in case eh?

Winning 3-0 at half time and you’re unhappy that the team isn’t set up in a more attacking way?

It seems to be working well so far with the TAA in midfield experiment. Next up will be Eze’s debut in the second half. Looking like another good nights work for our hapless manager!

I just don’t get the Maddison hype. Billy big time if you ask me. And I don’t like to berate players but I just don’t get him.
Certainly not for the past 12 months

He scored 8 direct free kicks in a team that got relegated.

That's relatively impressive
