I’m trying to get excited about this World Cup, but to no avail :-((.
I’ve just watched Sky Sports World Cup preview with Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher & Karen Carney. Utterly depressing viewing. Same old, same old. Picking players for the starting XI not playing for their clubs, or totally off form.
I’m hoping this thread can get the juices flowing.
Do any of you think England have a chance?

Iran deserved to win the game and all these Welsh players like Moore and Thomas saying all they want to do is knock out England means less sympathy than normal for Wales, should have spent more time talking about getting themself through rather than worry about England.
They still have a chance though especially if England win tonight as we'll rest players

Hennessy what an idiot, cost em with that ridiculous challenge. England need to see USA off tonight, we don't want to be going into last game with Wales needing a result.

Time for Page to be brave and actually picking 11 players who can still run and play a full 90 minutes and Ramsey and Bale aren't capable of that currently reminds me of when Sven had Beckham in the 2002 side
Iran deserved winners in that second half despite the studio trying to suggest they were up to dirty tricks. I hope England will put Wales to the sword but I have this nagging fear if we are already through that we will give them a chance to win to scrape through in second place.

Wales forward Sorba Thomas: “We don’t fear England, never have. Whether that’s Football, Rugby whatever…we don’t fear England. And for us, why not be the ones to knock them out.”
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Felt a bit like Wales turned up expecting to win after watching England dismantle Iran. Hopefully a lesson for the England team to ignore Monday’s result and approach the USA game like it’s a cup final. No room for complacency.

Yes, I thought the BBC post-match analysis was bias and petty (as opposed to the commentator who called it as he saw it). Gutted for Wales but even the proudest Welshman has to concede that the best team won today.

I thought they were exposed terribly today, not only tactically but also by their reliance on players who don't have the legs. They made the wrong subs, they constantly made the same errors time and time again and did nothing to counter the areas Iran were dangerous. Honestly if it had been 4 or 5 it would have been fair

Kieffer Moore said the same, both born in England

Gabby logan was shouting come on wales before the game, if they did that for England the Welsh and Scottish would have a fit

One hell of a way to celebrate winning a throw-in, but hey ho...
