Swansea City v WBA : Matchday Thread : 2021/22 AFTERMATH 14:31 - Oct 17 with 18677 views | NotLoyal | Following the swans dominant performance against Cardiff next up at the newly named stadium are West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Championship. It’s a night game which means it will be dark, and there will be floodlights and chips no doubt as well. Match Officials, There will be a referee, and two other chaps there with flags, another chap will be there but not on the pitch, well, sort of not on it but he will be. Referee SIMON HOOPER Flag blokes Daniel Robathan and Derek Eaton Bloke everyone shouts at called the Fourth Official : Lee Swabey, Hoppy hasn’t reffed a swans game this season, he will be easily spotted as he has a John Hartson haircut. Swans record against WBA Games won: 18 Games drawn: 10 Games lost: 17 Latest form guide Swansea City 0 WBA 0 The last time the sides met was on the 7th March 2020. The game ended in a 0-0 draw. It was Swansea who threatened first as defender Joe Rodon saw a header blocked after rising high to meet a Conor Gallagher free-kick, while Andre Ayew could not divert Rhian Brewster's drive goal-wards. Albion were probing at the other end, but the team who began the day as the division's leading scorers struggled to open Swansea up. Freddie Woodman was forced into action just once before the break, the on-loan Newcastle goalkeeper diving to his left to save Callum Robinson's shot after Swansea had given the ball away on the edge of their own box. The breakthrough might have come seconds after the restart as Matt Grimes' drive was parried by Albion keeper Sam Johnstone and Jay Fulton sliced the rebound over the bar. A low Grimes free-kick saw Fulton send another effort over the top before Romaine Sawyers' deflected long-ranger whistled over Woodman's goal. Ayew then saw an overhead kick drift too high before Albion skipper Jake Livermore shot wastefully off target in the dying minutes. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56017/swansea-city-on-a- https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56028 https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56029 https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56032/swansea-city-stun- Matchday Programme https://issuu.com/swanseacityafc/docs/swans-west-brom-21-22-programme-v01 More to follow.

The Baggies were slow, ponderous and uninspiring until the last 1/5th of the game against a clever Brum. We will run rings around them with Grimes calling the shots in a slightly deeper role, swapping with Downesy who can face up to, negate and counter the rugged Livermore in CM. If we can get Oba fit, along with Ntcham in the final third we could be unstoppably good, playing a winning, effective and efficient Swansea Way. Exciting times, finally. .

We need to be pragmatic too. Baggies will be like Cardiff but miles better .Any weakness or faffing and they will cut us down. Just move on from the derby game and keep momentum

They will press a lot harder than Cardiff. Theyve got that bloke from Barnsley in charge and they always pressed as hard as Kim jong un presses the “bring me cake” button.

Indeed Zeezoo, they will be all over Naughton for a start so I pray he doesnt take the ages he does to play a ball. Manning is small and will be targetted at corners. I would have Cabango and Bennett playing together at CB and ensure the ball is played quicker and if we face danger, just clear the ball. All in all,by far our hardest test of the season and it will be light years different from that collection of jerks we played Sunday. Piroe will also need to dig in against Bartley, another players shockingly treated by us.

Cabango and Bennett, and playing the ball quicker? You're having a laugh, surely. You clearly don't like Naughton but he's the most composed defender we have with ball at feet. Cabango? He can play the ball quicker alright but it won't be going to a player in white.

Could've been worse it could have been B Cooper now that's slow . Naughtons done fine so far and except for that one free kick in the first couple of minutes against Moore I thought he looked quite comfortable , I know a different game tomorrow but all the same 7th best defence so far this season .

Naughton is slow moving his feet under pressure and under pressure his passing is awful

When under any pressure Naughton crumbles. Pulls back due to his lack of pace and gets yellows and always liable to play a hospital pass .Outjumped at corners and outmuscled at set pieces.Centre Half my'rse. Cabango can stick up for himself and head the ball away alright. As for passing it our from the back, for Baggies, just clear if in trouble at the back.Don't invite trouble, avoid corners ,free licks . We have short memories alright.

. Absolutely. Cabango is a calamity in this system. Cooper streets ahead in the pecking order for a bench berth. Rhys Williams when fixed, will push Cabango gone. Nauts is the main man in Martin's defensive ball playing system. Kyle Naughton, Libero. Much like Paterson has found his spiritual home at the heart of the new Swansea Way. Nauts will have his hands full tomorrow and will be relying on Downesy to shield in CM. . .

and views like this make us clueless. That in itself shows those who post such are those without a clue.. It could also be said of those those who see Naughton as a Central defender of some statue
