AGM / EGM /AGM / EGM Match update thread - kick off 7pm 18:54 - Jun 1 with 63243 viewsRAFCBLUE

A beautiful evening this evening at Spotland for one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures of the season.

Team news when we have it, but the Board are expected to play a flat back 5.

Zoom is filling up nicely with many in attendance.

Poll: EGM - which way are you voting?

Ee! Trevor Butt hasn't half made that top table squirm. Really told them how it is and that they all should appear on the upcoming vote.

Thanks for all the updates IOM 👍

No worries! I apologise for not posting much earlier, was multitasking but to be honest, you didn’t miss much. Dan Altman popped up under the guise of having a question for the board but he was just pointing out that what the board are doing with the new investors (in terms of trying to woo prospective buyers and offering them a period of exclusivity), they already did with Dan and Emre. He then made a sarcastic quip along the lines of ‘hopefully we’ll be flavour of the month again’.

And GM gave them a list of four local business men who would like to become board members. They muttered something about we needed to pass their resolutions otherwise they wouldnt have any shares, thus couldnt become board members. GM said he'd give them some of his.

The EGM bit has been really good actually.

Forgive me MH but I’m not familiar with Trevor Butt, who is he? He’s give the board hell tonight!

He is an ex-board member from the Morris/Kilpatrick era based on what he said - Trevor Butterworth is his full name.

Was a director in Overcoat Men days. Owned a decent sports shop on Yorkshire St and helped the club out in many ways over the years.

Is there actually a certain amount of shares someone has to have in order to become a board member? I did wonder if one of the existing board had sold to NG for him to join the board.

Cheers Sudden - when he found out about the pay rises, he was going apoplectic. Said the board ‘should be absolutely ashamed of themselves’.

DB in tears. Again.

Only because he's been rumbled and knows the game is up for him.

One thing worth saying is that a Trust member on the room (the only supportive voice) asked the trust to follow the club's example and withdraw the motions, and failing that to cast their vote prorata. The trust refused to withdraw but agreed to vote prorata, though I did not know that was possible.

No sign of the results being counted in just yet. Best to get the Kleenex ready, mind.

I thought someone said they needed a nominal £10's worth. And expected to put a minimum of £25k into the club.

In view of the board withdrawing the four motions w/r/t share issuance, I did feel that was a very well-argued point. Equally, credit to Col for sticking to his guns by stressing that he had a mandate from Trust members.

After what happened in that last half hour, the voting to potentially remove DB and GR is completely justified IMHO.

The said vote being withdrawn would be catastrophic under the circumstances

If the withdrawal of DB vote would have been withdrawn I would never renew my trust membership ever again

Exactly this. Tonight has a feel that if we don’t act now, we’ll lose any advantage we currently hold with regards to turning the screw on the board and DB in particular.

I was at the EGM that removed Cannon and co. Its crossed my mind that if DB and GR lose the vote who might walk with them.

Bottomley GOES by a vote of 60% to 40%.

Rawlinson GOES by a vote of 52.7% to 47.3%.

Much closer than I imagined.
