Could be some time before rearranged fixture as we have Tuesday/Wednesday and Saturday games until mid-April apart from the International break at the end of March. Then the following week we're due to play Monday, Saturday. So the earliest appears to be the 14th April. |

Are you sure about Selhurst Park?
1) Can't remember them having a game called off because of a frozen pitch and
2) They ARE supposed to have it - PL Rules state that
"Each Club shall provide and maintain at its Stadium an undersoil heating system for
its pitch and shall ensure, so far as is reasonably possible, that the pitch is playable
on the occasion of each home League Match" |

I know everyone is sad because the weather has forced us to live without the excitement of QPR playing ,Brian typing and all the usual match thread contributors either pulling their hair out or celebrating wildly but it is winter .

Clive, with the racing cancelled (was a great card at Newbury), and QPR now cancelled, iโll take any sport going.
As Dave said, I have to justify the drinking somehow after 5 days cooped up working 9-7.

Brian, I think the trick is to find a happy place and go to it every time anyone mentions rugby. Recently I've been replaying Terry's penalty miss over and over in my head. I find I'm getting through the six nations OK. If that doesn't work, I revert to wegerle v Leeds or gemill v Brazil. |

When we got home I said bloody trains, we just missed one and the next was cancelled and he couldn't have looked anymore guilty as he said "Thats right and we had to stand and wait for ages for the next train", She was suspicious anyway but we'd have got away with it if he hadn't spilt the bloody BBQ sauce all down his QPR shirt and he confessed within seconds when she spotted it | | | |

That stat is quite remarkable and I became aware of it when doing some research on our woeful record (pre December 2018) at the City Ground. You would have surely expected in the course of 22 games over 60 years to have got a lucky draw along the way but no. My job was to nod along to a grand District Line conspiracy to only send Ealing Broadway trains to Hammersmith in Saturday peak hours. Bloody three or four of them before a Richmond one, honest to God. Actually we'd been sitting in either The Goldhawk or The George while mum had been rather irately waiting in the car at Richmond for us.
ROBERT, I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WALKING PAST IN QPR SCARVES. QPR FANS HAVE BEEN WALKING PAST ME HERE FOR HALF AN HOUR. HOW DID THEY GET HERE, MAGIC CARPET?
And dad would then have to walk home along the A316 while mum took me home in time for Big Break.

I have 16 unruly hyssop bushes and three massive, straggly buddleias which have spent months glaring at me in a "You don't care about us any more" kind of way. It will be freezing cold and I still have RSI in both arms from a mammoth gardening session at my local church.
I still think getting stuck into all that foliage with my rather blunt secateurs will be more pleasurable and relaxing than the nail biting suspense of yet another QPR relegation six pointer.
But that said, I will really miss the match thread, with its banter, witticisms and occasional outpourings of pure joy when Rangers hit the back of the net or grab a point or three. COYRs |  |

My parents ran a hotel in Castletownbere, Beara, Co. Cork, population 1,000.
At the weekends me and my Brother would stay with our Grandparents a couple of villages away, population 100 each.
On Sunday, Dad would come and collect us and Dad would enjoy a few pints on the way home, often more than a few. Dad would then prime me with the most ridiculous lies to tell Mom, and when we parked up I'd run ahead to tell Mom.
"It's not Dad's fault, there was a cow calving" (no matter what time of year)
"It's not Dad's fault, there was a robbery and the Gardaรยญ (cops) stopped all the cars passing for hours"
or
"It's not Dad's fault, there was a huge traffic jam".
I found out years later that it was a private joke between the two of them and I was the unwitting stooge.

Burnley is a similar graveyard for us. 16 defeats in 21 matches at Turf Moor with just two wins. Even QPR's best ever team that nearly won the league lost there and Burnley got relegated that season.
In fact that part of East Lancashire itself seems to be a no-no as our record at Blackburn is just as shite. [Post edited 12 Feb 2021 17:49]

Yeah, it was shown on the Big Match Revisited a few weeks ago which is currently showing the 74/75 season. They had Viv Busby as a guest in the studio. They had Alec Stock on last week's show talking about the upcoming final. | |
