That was my first reaction too. Mind you, he's only ever had two promotions and has never won a cup, so not sure if my high regard for him is fully justified or part-sentimental as I like his personality. |

oh it won't be easy but he's a good manager and I think he'll get the best out of them, it's not a great league again this year and with so many games in a short period of time a few wins and they'll be in the playoff picture. if they stick with him he'll get them up either this year or next. | | | |

I think, if memory serves, Roy Keane did something similar a few seasons ago with Sunderland. Lost their first few games (not sure how many) under the guidance of his best buddy Niall Quinn, then Keane came in and I think they went up automatically, maybe even as champs?

I love that their Wikipedia has sections for First team, First team out on loan, and then just "Other players under contract"...
Looking at the squad though and tbh I don't think it's actually as much of a mess as it might seem. The first XI and subs pick themselves without too much controversy, and then there's about 5-8 excess I'd say - manageable, with another window's culling.
Course if they ever did go up with this lot they'd get absolutely blitzed - everyone out on their ear and £150m trolley dash guaranteed. Probably Hughton too within a month or two. |  | | |

I’m annoyed about this as it reinforces my view we got worked over on the Eze deal.
My personal view is that Eze is better than this fella and will have a longer career at the top table.
It also annoys me that Bentford are so skilled at extracting these fees.
Clearly clubs like Wet Spam are starting to panic and when they do that the chequebook comes out with silly fees agreed.
