Sheff Utd in for Jon Swift at Reading at a bargain £3.5m.
Looks like a buyers' market...

He was very high up (like in the top one) on our choices of the second striker on loan to support Dykes.

I know they have the Bellingham money, but he must be on a fair whack, also considering all the other players on their books?

This petrified, saturated lad has played twice for the U-12's on rainy January days on a cliff-top pitch in Orkney, he's forgotten to wear a vest, had no gloves and didn't have a shot to keep him warm for the entire two hours including extra time.

Villa paying 50% of his salary still, great deal for Birmingham.

That is a great deal.

I guess even 50% was 25% too much for us which I fully understand.

I'd sooner a striker to play off Dykey though, not instead of.
Must be some up and coming young un's out there we can take for a season Shirley???

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Villa will probably have agreed to pay the excess wage due for the last year of his contract with them/first year of his four year contract with Birmingham. If that happens to be 50% then that'd only prove the likelihood Brum have committed to paying him a pretty penny - 15k-20k a week.

Thankfully we don't do them for loans (usually).

Bloody hell, that Birmingham squad has far more talent than I realised

If they can't get a functioning midfield and attack out of McEchran, Toral, Leko, Crowley. Clayton, Hogan and Jutkewietz then we might as well go home.

Although just realised Karanka is their manager so they will bore their way into the play offs

I know there's more to it than just style of play, but as a striker if your options are all-out-attack QPR supported by young playmakers and someone like Dykes, or to play for Karanka and protect 1-0 leads for a year, why would you choose the former?

Great signing for them, less so for him.

Yes but a deal has probably been done. Maybe a reduced fee and signing on bonus to make up for some of his salary reduction.

Christ...
Just looking at their squad - they already have England International Carl Jenkinson, Darikwa and the kid Gabriel who played against us for RBs. Which must be at least £40k p/w in wages?

Michael Hefele is without a squad number, still has a year to run on a contract and hasn't played a game for them since 2018! Emmanuel-Thomas-esque.

Still, sure they'll sign another CB if they lose on the weekend.

Wasn’t Hefele on our wish-list at that time. They probably only signed him to stop us getting him.

Beyond parody at this point - would be the fifth specialist RB on the books. Two 28 year olds (older than Christie), two highly rated in their early 20s, none injured. Carl Jenkinson signed for 2m and presumably handsomely paid given the ridiculous contract he left at Arsenal.

Only the four in CM so showing interest in Harry Arter next...

Meanwhile, 15m five-year deal Uncle Mendes snip Joao Carvalho now reportedly bomb squadded with Adomah (leading our fans a merry dance on social media lately) and Clough .
