Spot on that's the way he should have done it Best for 45 then bring him

16 points from the first 6 games when you could argue Cooper had not had a chance to implement his methods. I wouldnt trust him with the summer rebuild but unless we get sold he wont be going anywhere. [Post edited 12 Jan 2020 15:31]

It's got Oct/Nov panic stations sacking written all over it. We're not going down regardless, and the August run shines up this season enough to keep everyone who doesn't watch us regularly sweet (listen to Elis James' last podcast for an example). It's a carbon copy of the regression we saw under Monk. Been obvious to some for a long time.

Couldn't agree more. It doesnt help when you get Leon and Trundle spouting rubbish about how we are lucky to have him. Thats why they are there though to say the right things.

My guess is if you are not swans fan you wont have seen us play to often. No matter what Leon or Trundle say fans are not stupid yes 5 points better off than last but the football is pi§§ poor with no sign of improvement [Post edited 12 Jan 2020 14:57]

The Official Cardiff City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 14:54 - Jan 12 by LeonWasGod | Yep, fair ppint. I like Borja (stupidly) and think he could have been an asset today against their lumps. But then he often dissapoints, so who knows. |
Yep I agree. Also, in the post match interview Cooper was saying that he was disappointed. Ironic really in that he really was the architect of how we set out and played. Plus, probably, poor training/practice on set pieces and crosses. If he constantly blames other factors (e.g. the bloody grass), he'll never accept responsibility and fix what is clearly in his control and remit. That's the bit that REALLY worries me - the delusion, when we could and should be so much better with what we already have!

Just like he was disappointed against QPR in the cup when he chucked together an XI that had rarely if ever played as a team before against a pretty much first choice QPR side. Seems like he's usually disappointed about everything that isn't his own choices. Throwing people under the bus when things don't work out is another habit he's got in common with Monk.

Yeah, both those teams today, and clubs in current guise, going nowhere except south. I'd have hated to lose to day, but there were times when I was thinking, f*ck it, so what, we are both mid table fodder at best no matter the results of the head to heads. Neitherr club has direction, identity or purpose at the moment. Both a hotch potch of nothing much, No style, no substance. The two teams and managers of 2010/11 would wallop those two teams with these two managers. 26 from 21 is fair. 58-60 points is what we are really worth. They should be in a relegation battle and would be without that initial Harris lucky 5 game bounce. I'm still bloody glad we didn't lose, and the point there is worth raising a glass to, always.

Start looking for candidates to replace him now and think carefully before following his recommendations for signings and who to keep/release. We don't want to be hoping that another Guidolin phones us up and saves the day.

The Official Cardiff City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 14:01 - Jan 12 by icecoldjack | Decent point. 2 crap teams, zero pass and move, poor skills from both teams and a real insight to just how far clubs fall when premier league money and status disappears, in fairness to cardiff they've never been a footballing team anyway, but our lot should have played them off the park. Looks like we dont practice football anymore, just turgid pai t by numbers stuff that means absolutely any team could boss us around and we have no answer. Good effort by the boys today, but imo they arnt being coached well enough to improve as players or to play what we have come to expect as our identity as a football club Potter achieved good football with the same team, what the fook is Coopers excuse ? |
Potter had dan james and mcburnie

The Official Cardiff City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 20:27 - Jan 12 with 1579 views | londonlisa2001 | Well I thought we did ok in a typical South Wales Derby. With a realistic hat on, these games have rarely been filled with quality as there is too much emotion involved. I’m ok with taking a point away and definitely ok with taking 4 points over the two matches. With that out of the way, we can concentrate on looking forward to the rest of the window and the rest of the season. We are crying out for some quality in defensive midfield - someone who can gather and drive us forward. The combination at the moment is too similar. We need something different. Great game from young Cabango though. The back four today looked more solid than for a while. And the formation was ok - bit more pace required - but largely pace of thought. If we can bring in some quality on loan in the middle to help the team, and get rid of those that are hurting the club financially that’ll be good news all round.

Agree with pretty much everything there Lisa. Although to be fair I thought Byers had a good game defensively, less so going forwards. It's frustrating that we won't get another player on loan, as we should have been able to get Matt Smith off QPRs hands given he's played less than 90 minutes in the league for them since the middle of August, and City recalled Patrick Roberts from his loan from Norwich and placed him with Boro, due to a lack of game time. Smith has all the right attributes for a Swansea Way defensive mid - i.e. a "ratter" in the Joe Allen/Leon mold to intensify our pressing game out of possession, but also someone with good possession skills and a range of passing. Perhaps if Ayew leaves we may be able to bring in a defensive mid on a permanent move. Not likely but I live in hope.

He doesn't know the players around him or the 'tactics'. Have to say it was like playing with 10 men. Better game from Byers and please of effect from everyone. Cabango was immense. |

The Official Cardiff City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 03:13 - Jan 13 with 1304 views | TimTtam | What an opportunity missed. We clearly came to draw though, given our game plan and use of ZERO subs (???). 51% possession when playing Cardiff is awful. And 63% pass accuracy was worse than Cardiff... Still, you can understand Cooper not wanting to lose. It ensures we have bragging rights this season, and have not conceded a goal to them in both games. An away draw to a mid table side is always a decent result. Wigan at home is one of the easiest games we'll have all season (supposedly). Hopefully being back at home, we can play better football.
