Is that a fifteen year old in the side three seasons on the trot now? Adshead, Matheson and now Thomas.

One for TVOS probably, but does that make Thomas the youngest player to start a game in English professional football? Blurred lines a bit with it being the EFL Trophy and not a league game, but Reuben Noble Lazarus holds the league record at 15 years and 45 days.

Seems Adshead was a vintage 16 years and a few days when he made his debut. Practically a dinosaur.

Thomas didn't start the game!

Harvey Elliott was 15 years 167 days when he played for Fulham U21 v Wycombe in the Checkatrade Trophy, but he came on as a sub, like Thomas.

RNL was 15 yrs and 45 days when he made his Barnsley debut.

There doesn't seem to be anything easily accessible for other EFL Trophy debutants, save for looking at every game ever played in the competition!

Have they changed the rules? I seem to remember a few years back Hill saying he wanted to play Asdhead in the football league trophy but he wasn't allowed to because of his age? I'm sure he was 15 turning 16?

You should`ve gone to the Tanners. My brother and his mate were getting in there when they were only 15,still going to Heybrook School. He already had long sideburns by then,I was still struggling to get in any pub at 19 as I was rather short at one end. Still am by the way!!

Never had issues after that, as I was tall and fairly well built. (I still am ) I was grassed up by my sister, my mum went ballistic, my Dad took me to the Plough the day after. He would rather I learned to drink sensibly under his watchful eye. He was on the darts team at the Plough, and the Landlord was soon on friendly terms. That was until I started going in with several other 6 th formers from Balderstone, once a week for a lunchtime pie, pint, and game of darts. No issues for several months, it was only when some of the teachers decided to do the same that the problems started.
Looking back, I had a great time in the 6th Form.

They could well have done. It's hard to keep track these days.
