I once went in a chippie in EK and asked - correctly - for a pie supper (I wanted pie and chips).
Imagine my horror when the pie went straight in the deep fat fryer....

Do I feel bad reading this. I have a confession to make. I went for a chippy tea on Friday - fish chips peas, tea bread and butter oh and a splodge of curry sauce. We also ordered onion rings (after a recommendation). There must have been about 20 onion rings stacked on top of one another. I did only eat 2.
I feel ashamed

In 1988 EK if you asked for a fish supper you got two fillets of fish.
I have no idea whether this was traditional, a marketing ploy, or what it was. All I knew was that if I had a fish supper on Monday, I would probably not need to eat again until Wednesday.
