It was interesting that Asoro came on as a number 9 before McB today. To be fair, Middlesbrough's CHs would probably have battered socks, pace & movement worked far better against them anyway, so good call by GP. What I did like was that even though Joel didn't score, his movement was decent and the crowd didn't get on his back and appreciated his effort when he possibly should have scored. That said, he did seem to switch off a bit after a while which was a shame. Thing is, many of us on here would quote the West Brom match as our best (1st) half down the liberty that we've seen and rightly so in many ways. Mobile and clever players are a superb weapon against the big lumps which we often face. A balanced squad is all most of us want at the end of the day. And of course the manager to utilize it appropriately. I thought that Potter did that very well today, including giving Rodon a run out at the end.

He's one of these players that's quoted as being able to play across the front line. I like the kid.....and yes he has bulked up on top, lost none of his pace. It would be good if he's introduced to regular game time like 30 mins or so to start.

He's not done an awful lot this season, but he's still 18 months younger than Dan James.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

18 - everyone needs to remember this. It’s time and patience that we need with him, not all round criticism after every cameo appearance.

Depends where his head is long term. On the form of the first half of the season, we’d miss him. Wasn’t there a stat floating round a few weeks ago that showed he’d scored or assisted over 50% of our goals? I don’t know where that would leave us if we didn’t have those this season, probably in a relegation battle. This year he’s been as important to us as Siggy was, and we all know how that went when he left. No guarantee we’d replace Ollie with anyone of quality; we certainly couldn’t afford to spend on a proven goalscorer.
