Match thread: Oldham Checkatrade on 21:02 - Dec 11 with 3994 views | SandyDrum | That was an attacking training session for Dale tonight, and honestly really enjoyable to watch! With Hendo and Andrew up front we would have been about 10-0 up by the 80th minute for sure. Plenty of very good performances, Rathbone and Inman were excellent.

Have to echo that. Even before the sending off we were utterly dominant and we really should be looking at an Oldham massacre in the scoreline, but unfortunately we didnāt test their keeper enough. I thought the midfield trio of Perkins, Morley and Rathbone were excellent and controlled the game, and Done and Raff were afforded more space than theyāve seen all season - if only their crossing was slightly improved! Smart finish by Adshead for the second. Good to see CoG get a good reception when he went off, and funny to see an irate Frankie Bunn squaring up to Dale fans at the end. All in all, I really enjoyed that!

911 of them but their manager decided to take over the posturing duties. Rafferty lucky not to have seen red. Weād do well to remember this.

It certainly shows the gulf in quality between our division and theirs, Prize money for the person who asked: Round Two: Ā£20k for a win (tonight) Round Three: Ā£40k for a win Quarter Final: Ā£50k for a win Runner-up: Ā£50k Winner: Ā£100k

Match thread: Oldham Checkatrade on 21:42 - Dec 11 with 3449 views | DaleiLama | Not read any match reports yet, but also not enjoyed a game as much as that for a long time. Tbf, Oldham were on the toothless side before the sending off but after it they only had one very short spell before we sealed the deal. They gave us so much room up the flanks it was criminal and Done and Raff feasted. We got behind them more than a side ever should and had so many chances it could have been an even bigger margin of defeat. Perkins had a very good game and was spraying the ball around, as was MJ and Morley to a lesser extent. Gillam a bit invisible first half but must have had a very refreshing 1/2 and orange at HT as he was night and day in 2nd half before being subbed. Ollie typical terrier like performance full of running and made some great jinking runs too. Our passing was much crisper tonight (though we were pressed less) but one of the things that really struck me was the return of "no fear" as we attacked almost with abandon. I don't know if it was having a younger team (like the young lions vs the old at International level) but there was more freedom and expression in that performance than any I've seen this year. Last word for Dan Adshead. Did no harm to his transfer value tonight. Last goal was the pick of the bunch and he took it with aplomb after racing 3/4 the length of the pitch. Old head on young shoulders. Sizzler. What fantastic value for a tenner. Looking forward to City u21 already!

How were we settling for penalties when we spent most of the second half battering away at the Oldham defence?

You assume incorrectly, Col. He's third in the list: Steve Milligan: 16 years 10 months 5 days (Lincoln (a), Apr 1990) Jamie Taylor: 16 years 11 months 21 days (Northampton (h), Jan 1994). Dan Adshead is 17 years 3 months and 9 days

He pie faces him (stupid) but their lads reaction to them hit himself in the mush and sell it is frankly embarrassing. The clip of the penalty decision Iāve seen is hilarious, i assume he had his hands flapping about in a John Terry fashion, but anything that winds up the biffos is good.
Match thread: Oldham Checkatrade on 22:34 - Dec 11 with 2962 views | Daley_Lama | Full strength team from Oldham Quite a strong Dale team Oldham had a purple patch of 10 mins but aside from that, were second best throughout. Having said that, we only crafted a couple of really good chances and despite dominating didnāt look like scoring. Raff certainly let their lad know his view on the tackle and it was this that led to the pushing andshoving. Clarke got in his face and he shoved his face away. A different ref.... The shot that led to the pen was well hard, couldnāt really tell if it was a genuine handball or their lad not being able to get his arm out of the way. Lovely weighted ball for Adshead and calm finish. Their keeper went mental at the lino after the second goal, perhaps he had the same issue that their fans had throughout the game. If you are not winning it is the refs fault If your lad goes over the top its the refs fault If an opposition player isnāt sent off for being offside, refs fault. If the opposition score a straightforward goal, linos fault. Fair result and not wholly unexpected, League 1 team at home v League 2 team, class and ability shone through in the end.

Give over, not nearly enough pace on the corners tonight, always in a good area, but youād have to have a neck like phil heath to power one through the keeper when the ball has so little on it. Midfield 3 in my opinion was brilliant. Morley used the ball well, would like to see him some more. Probably been the best iāve seen perkins and rathbone drove us forward every opportunity he got. Front three leaves a lot to be desired. Gillam and Williams are completely ineffective and inman just about better. Oldham are honestly terrible. Quite enjoyed the game, especially frankie bunn seeing his arse at the end.

Match thread: Oldham Checkatrade on 23:01 - Dec 11 with 2779 views | Sandyman | 2-0 in yer cup final. We didn't have the first XI out, but still looked miles in front of Oldham's first XI on the ball. Not too many times this season we've been able to say that about Dale but if that is Oldham's best, they have a lot of rebuilding to do. They're a dirty team too. Nice touch by the main stand applauding Oldham's Chris O'Grady off when he was subbed. We don't forget. Class. Something that seems to be sadly lacking in the Oldham team and fan base. Bring on City
