Our fans 06:52 - Aug 22 with 7031 views | WixamsR | I am struggling to understand the mentality of some of our fans last night. I am going to put the football to one side for a second because obviously it was unacceptable, but I am convinced that we have a group of supporters that genuinely want us to fail. I was sat in Y/X block last night. Literally from the kick off some of the fans were on the players backs, the first time Washington received the ball a bloke stood up and hollered that he should 'fook off you fooking cant'. One of the first songs that was sung from that area was 'we're f...... sh.t'. Promptly followed up with 'how sh.t must you be, we're drawing 0-0'. Why?! It's a total embarrassment. I get the frustration, I don't think we should sit there and clap happily along as we get battered again, but please someone tell me how any of that helps? Was it just where I was sat? I hope so!

If you're a player looking for a bit of belief and compassion, our lot aren't always going to give it to you. Still, f**k it. It's only a game. A painful one that's often shit but you could be quadraspazzed on a life glug I guess. So there's that.

I don't think TF has been to any games so far. At the Peterborough Cup game a steward was fuming that NOT ONE director turned up.

Commented yesterday to the guys I go with that there already appears a finality to this team/season that I have not felt before, even when we went until December without a win in 07/08 it didn't feel this bereft.

Our fans on 12:32 - Aug 22 with 1461 views | TacticalR | Actually the fans tried to lift the players, even though the players had shrunken into themselves and looked as though nothing could lift them. Why on earth blame the fans? Isn't it the board that is constantly telling us everything about the club isn't good enough (the scruffy manager who had to be ditched/the tatty ground) and create a constant sense of dissatisfaction and self-loathing as they peddle their empty dreams? Given that we are going to be at Loftus Road for years to come why not try to improve the facilities? Why not think of a fast way to get people their drinks at half-time in Ellerslie instead of the fans spending the whole of half-time queueing?

Also the prices of the piss they call beer have gone up, blue and white bar charging a fiver a beer now rather than £4.20 odd. It's not even drinkable.

Our fans on 11:22 - Aug 22 by bosh67 | I think there is a generally lack of acceptance that the club is in real trouble and is having to cope with that. This is the weakest squad we have had in years. Not strictly talent wise, but in lack of experience at this level. No money to buy player and very difficult convincing players to come here on loan to a poor team and less money than elsewhere. Problem is that the players and manager cop the blame. I think there is a lot of angst and disillusionment behind the scenes. Players see players leaving, they know what state the club is in, they see no players coming in and the pressure on them intensifies. A new manager comes in with different ideas and the players seem to not be mentally in the right place to go out and play that way. I think a lot of things have caught up with the players and that is what we are seeing. Washington has no confidence and hasn't had any for ages. Cousins was injured and just doesn't seem to be able to really get involved and Ingram has been thrust in as first team keeper when his ability at this level is questionable. And yet we have to somehow rely on these players. It's not easy. Players also take on what fans and press say and you can sink very quickly, as we are right now. Fans are generally living off where we were since Warnock came in and we are now a million miles from even that team. Our time in the light has been brief and I think it will be bleak for a while because we f*cked up financially and our current situation is exactly what the FA wanted. They wanted to make an example of us as a warning to others and that's how it is panning out. The atmosphere is toxic because of all these things but it is mainly because many fans seem to feel we should be performing as we did when we got promoted. That is a world away from where we are and fans have to accept it will be this way until somehow it turns around. |
You are spot on and what a great point about how our dire plight must be affecting the players. They must surely know we are utterly skint and struggling to compete on the shoestring FFP allows us. All, please re-read Bosh' post, he has nailed it. RFA

The trouble with this is essentially the point of Bosh post is as you say nail on head, just 1 problem it also says there is no point, and no hope due to the changes in FFP etc. The dream is gone, without the dream there's very little left really. Might as well watch Park footie or just the top level stuff on TV. (PL etc)

Our fans on 11:34 - Aug 22 by RamblingRanger | Completely agree the toxic atmosphere is unanimously unhelpful for the crisis we find ourselves in. As you say, as a fan you shouldn't be expected to be a happy clapper when you're about to lose you're 4th successive league game, but how in hell does booing of the players and chants digging McClaren out help the situation 4 games into the season? I'll tell you who it helps, it helps the opposition team not QPR. Fans need to show a bit of maturity and thick skin, and be appreciative of the crisis we're in at the moment. Yes its shet, yes its demoralising, yes its depressing, but booing does nothing to solve it. |
Were you at the match mate? The crowd were really good and tried to lift the team . There was a few boos at halftime and a lovely chorus of your getting sacked in the morning from all around the ground aimed at Wally after the 3rd goal went in and yes i joined in!

Why? How will it help? Fernandes has stepped down as chairman and now we have Amit. Whether that will help remains to be seen We can't change the past and we will struggle to change our owners. There are no easy solutions to being a successful football club and there certainly aren't when you can't win a game and can't spend money on players. There was no queue of prospective owners before and there certainly isn't now. The only people who would buy us now, apart from rich Rangers fans, are people who wouldn't be able to sign the cheque because their arms are held securely behind them in a nice, warm straitjacket. We need to all pull together and work to get QPR out of this mess. No one wants us to fail, not McClaren, not the players, not the board. RFA
