I think thats in terms of the job he has had to do in giving younger players a chance and ensuring we didn't go down rather than it being a brilliant season results wise

And some on here still don't like to be seen to slag Holloway off, incredible really in how anyone could consider supporting a manager with statistics like these to his name. Utterly indefensible and yet a few still back him fcuking mind blowing.

We have been screaming out for stability for ages and now say get a new manager in. OK it hasn't been pretty for the most part (especially away) but he has cleared out the mercenaries and is now in a position where we have youngsters coming through. While doing that we haven't looked in real relegation danger all year. In our situation it takes more than a year to build a team. We are also now in a position where we don't have to go out in the summer to buy / sign 3/4 of a team. A few experienced additions and I can see this team being up there. I think he deserves another season.

All the mercenaries were, or are (yes, not all gone yet), due to expire this summer. The ones who have gone went on a payout, most likely fairly close to 100%. Absolutely no kudos there for Holloway. Youngsters coming through? Surely more credit to the youth team coaches than anybody else. Holloway may have helped and may have hindered their development but basically what he was doing was picking ripe fruit from what had already been thinned out. The lack of relegation danger was more due to six abysmal teams managing to flatter four very ordinary teams (Hull, Forest, us and Wednesday). The rebuilding of the team has been taking place since we last entered the Championship. Holloway is just another step in that path, nothing more. He has been here 18 months and we are still, on average, a not very good team. There's your stability. How much do you think he can lift us when he still isn't getting results as good as Ramsay or Hasselbaink? Don't forget, this is the last season of parachute payments coming up. After that, it gets really tough. Another season would be a waste of a year's opportunity. [Post edited 7 May 2018 9:35]

Also doesn't include the Peterborough friendly we plaid and won. But let's just include the ones that back your story up. Also what about a mention to the games we only lost by one goal?? Ah well as long as it makes people get excited about ANOTHER new manager that will want to rebuild again and then in November we can slag his style off and get ANOTHER manager in.

You need to give him credit for picking those young players ! A lot of managers would of just stuck with the senior players as they would be thinking of themselves and not the club !!

I wasn't saying that it is down to him getting rid of the mercenaries but it has massively hindered him having them around and taking up wages so rebuilding in earnest can't start until they are gone. If you look at our gates we are pretty much in the table where we should be. An average championship team. All relegation's involve teams worse than ours that's how leagues work. Yes we've been rebuilding but we have been rebuilding different managers teams and ideals. Unless we have a manchester city way (all the teams from youth up play the same formation and the manager has to play that way) then any new manager will have their own ideas about how they want to play. Getting a new manager every 12-18 months is not stability and any rebuilding will be never ending. If we are going to extremes then Alex Ferguson didn't win anything till he had been in the job for 3 years.
