Let's not give up before we've started; Electoral Commission say 'Under STV Parliament is more likely to be both reflective of a nation's views and more responsive to them' - Amen to that! It's up to us - do we let 'them' keep on ignoring us or do we stand up for democracy.

The systems used in Scotland , Wales and Scotland appear to be working. They offer a balance of constituency reps elected by first past the post and additional members elected by PR. So everyone's vote can count.

As it stands, In Rochdale as it stands, only a Labour vote really counts. In Whitney, Cameron's constituency only Tory votes count. At least with the AM system, a Tory in Rochdale second vote goes towards possible extra Tory seats, as does a Labour voters second vote in Whitney.

May streets ahead after the first ballot

In fact, if it was a majority decision, she'd have won already having gathered 165 votes against a total of 164 for her opponents

Still, due process must be observed

Fox drops out, don't know why he bothered, it's just meant an extra round of voting until we're left wth two

Two gone tonight. The other no hoper has baled out as well. I can't see Gove getting much further.

It'll be down to the two Thatcher clones.

Unlike Thatcher though, they will be taking us out of EU instead of further into it.

Well Leadsom has promised to reveal the details of her bank accounts if she gets down to the last two. According to " Private Eye " that should be interesting. You don't work in the City for as long as she did without learning how to pull a few financial strokes.
