Grant Hall... Hmmm.... 10:00 - Feb 15 with 6013 viewsWestbourneR

Said it before and I'll say it again, despite all the love on here I don't he's up to it. He over commits to tackles he can't win and gets caught out of position and he's very weak in the air, very, often see him get owned over and over again by strong centre forwards.

That said Ned is also poor in the air.

Incredible to say but I think Clint Hill is still the best centre back at the club! Ridiculous.

same although was warned that he hid during games , hid feck me thats an understatment , either he just cant be bothered or think dosnt want to get injured as the euros are coming up , I never thought id be asking for henry to come on to replace anyone but a lot of us was on saturday , it just shows how fecked we are if faurlin isnt playing.

Yet a player that Watford fans creamed over and were annoyed he was joining QPR.
Same with Angella, how the hell they got promoted with these two clowns as regular starters is a mystery

Hall has been outstanding all season - in my view our best player. When you consider this is his first full season playing at a high level his performances have been incredible. The club need to find him a partner of similar stature. Looking at teams I have this season at LR I thought the two centre-backs from Huddersfield were very good (actually their back-four were all good), the two Preston lads were also very good.

What we've needed for some time - back to Hughes' time - is a big nasty centre half that can win a ball in the air. We've had the more 'cultured' type of centre back, all interceptions and playing out from the back and decent positioning and I count Hall as that. But we haven't had a big nasty bstrd to just fcking stand there and head it. Blackburn have two, maybe they'd like to sell us one. Duffy please.

Duffy has been really good this year - one of the standout CB's in the Championship so far. Think he'd be expensive unless he's running a contract down since he joined from Everton.

Is stem cell research FFP deductible? We could re generate Clint Hill's legs.

Can't understand how anyone can be anything but pleased with the signing of Hall.

The only disappointment is that we didn't go for Veljkovic too from Spurs. 6'2 CB/DM with Championship experience who has now ended up at Werder Bremen for £200k.

We had one of those in Richard Dunne for 2 years

Absolutely agree. Duffy would be a great choice and I am sure there are some young "tough-nuts" to be had down the lower leagues.

I really like the look of the two lads at Barnsley, Wigans centre-half Daniels looks a beast and the pairing at Walsall look really solid. Of course we will end up with Caulker!

Clive, do you think both full-backs will be here next season?

I wonder if Gary Johnson will bid for Barnsley's Alfie Mawson? He was purchased to be developed and moved on.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

One year really, bit past it by the time we got to the Prem. Certainly not a long term solution to a long term problem but look at the difference he made while we did have him.

Probably, it was a best case scenario.

not a long term solution but did well for 2 years, was still one of our better players last year as well, his absence from Feb was a big blow to our chances of staying up. A player like that is essential in this league

We were linked with that Wycombe CB a few weeks back. Now he does look like a beast!

Dunne was a very good player for us.
I don't think we've seen enough of Angella to write him off yet. I thought he looked really good on his 20 min debut but has since struggled a bit as he cant get games.
Onouha is just not doing the biz to warrant a starting place let alone captain.

Agree with this on Angella - I still think he could be a CB solution if he ever gets the chance
