Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

This is a really big deal locally (sat in my oxon office). Been asked a good few times this week (as obviously everyone up here knows I'm a Swans fan) are there any spare tickets - no/will we play our full team - no/how many are we bringing - more than I expected for a Sunday noon ko live on tv to see our ressies (that answer hasn't gone down well)

Think it'll be a cracking atmosphere (as much as you can get with only 3 sides...), it's their biggest cup match for around 10 years they reckon. Nice that they see us as a big attraction...mind you, they've never seen Eder yet...

Remember the times when we were down the leagues, waiting for the cup draw, hoping / dreaming we'd get a team from the top flight preferably down the Vetch, so we had a chance to beat them and then being disappointed by getting the likes of Hayes/ Peterboro etc

Hopefully they sing their hearts out all game otherwise we're only going to hear Swansea as per.
Hopefully they'll be having their "fire drill" by about the 60th minute- we can relax before travelling back then

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

I know the result is unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but I'm still getting that nervous, edgy feeling.

Reserves or not, it will still be humiliating if we get beat.

You would like to think whatever fringe players of ours who are selected are still better than L2 standard. With some hopefully trying to prove a point to push for a first team start in future.

Can see both Bartley and Amat starting on Sunday. Also Grimes and Emnes !

Not sure who else Curtis will risk from our first team considering the Sunderland fixture soon follows,

I'd be quite happy with a totally reserve side turning out, although we have to bear in mind who's not been starting recently.

Something like:

Nordfelt
Naughton, Amat, Bartley, Tabanou
Grimes, Ki, Emnes
Montero, McBernie, Barrow

If Shelvey still figures in the plans, put him in instead of Emnes or Ki.

The team that played York at home -

Nordfeldt
22 Rangel
27 Bartley
02 Amat
14 Tabanou
07 Britton
04 Ki Sung-yueng (Shelvey - 81' )
12 Dyer (Ayew - 87' )
21 Grimes (Emnes - 76' )
15 Routledge
17 Éder

I thought we'd stuff them. On paper we sort of did at 3-0, but it was a crap performance.

With the closure of 'The Priory' pub then there is a limited choice of bars near to the stadium. Andy Wraight informs me, 'There is the Holiday Inn Express Hotel on the corner behind the Oxford Mail and South Stand, which has a fair sized bar. The bar welcomes football supporters and has Sky Television. Kim Rockall adds; 'There is a cinema and bowling alley complex located adjacent to the stadium, called Ozone. Inside the bowling alley there is a bar, which also has SKY TV and a fast food outlet'. There is also on the complex a Chinese buffet restaurant called Oxy Oriental.

Dave Langford a visiting Northampton Town fan tells me; 'I found a small local pub called the George Inn, situated in Littlemore just off the ring road (not far from Sainsburys). It had a number of television screens showing the early kick off and we were served fairly quickly. The Oxford fans at the pub made us very welcome and the landlord suggested that I leave my car in the pub car park for the duration of the match as the stadium was only a ten minute walk away. There were assorted pies and sausage rolls available. All in all a good find.' Please note though that for certain high profile games the pub does not admit away fans.

Another traditional pub in walking distance (15-20 minutes) of the Kassam Stadium is the Catherine Wheel in Sandford-on-Thames. This pub offers local real ales and cider, plus hot food snacks on matchdays.

Otherwise alcohol is also served within the ground in the form of: Carlsberg (500ml Can £3.90), Brains SA Smooth (Pint £3.80), Cider (500ml Can £3.80) and Wine (minature bottles £4).

92 Stad Guide.

I'll think us lot will have a look at the Catherine Wheel.

Does my head in when there's no pubs about, can't be dealing with over priced watered down sh*t in the ground.

Leave our 2nd string alone, it isn't their fault 😂

Yes be a psychological blow, be nice to get a win for moral, though Oxford are a good team. Only lost 3 in 25 league games and in their last match had 31 shots with 14 on target and scored 4 .......... stuff we dream of !!

Pretty sure this pub doesn't open until 12pm. May be different on a match day though.
