Is anyone now thinking more about their travel plans .... 22:00 - Jun 28 with 21449 viewsScoobyWho

After the recent terrorist activity ?

For the first time ever I am now giving it some thought, especially now as we are travelling more for work etc. My other thoughts, which a quite scary are that these fcktards will target anyone anywhere. I mean, shooting people on sunbeds on their holidays is a new low.

Would they target sporting events in the UK as an example ?

Fcking frightening world we live in these days. At least 30 UK nationals killed on their holidays. I'm finding this hard to get in to perspective.

Thinking of it......only thing that's putting me off is the 10 Hr flight.
Any tidy hotels/locations you can suggest ?

The Moon Palace is excellent, especially so if you like a round of golf.

If you don't fancy 10 hrs on a flight why not look at The Canaries?

The Met Office have been trying to get us to holiday here for years(bbq summer). I recommend an ancient Briton tour(stone circles etc)and a CAMRA HOLIDAY , but never let these cnts stop your enjoyment of life. Some of the best and cheapest holidays I've had have been to places after an incident.

Moon Palace is brilliant. Well worth the flight and something everyone should do at least once.
If you book it make sure you blag the resort spend (we had $2500) when you book

I'll take a look at Moon Palace thanks.....though I don't do golf.
Missus doesn't fancy the Canaries for some reason, and I always leave her to decide the holiday resort/hotel, because if it's sh*te I'm in the clear.

We had it to, it's basically a credit that you can spend in the resort. It goes without saying that some of it is absorbed in the price of your holiday.

When I went it was with Thomsons, not sure if it's still part of their portfolio. If it is it will explain the workings of it.

If it's around May you want to go, consider Croatia. I much prefered Split to Dubrovnik myself, beaches, marina and plenty historical stuff to do.

We're philosophical about the weather down West. As far as we are concerned the weather is always May. It May be nice, but on the other hand it May be not. That's why we always take plenty of wine and some tasty LBV port.

Oh, almost forgot, if the weather is inclement, and I've remembered to pack the Ventolin, sometimes we play billies as well.

Unknown gem For most British tourists is Sopot on the Baltic, been 5 times now, amazing beach holiday and plenty to do away from the beach. Cheap flights to Gdansk from Bristol.

Back to the original question,no I am not thinking more about where I travel, never been interested in the s@&@holes like Egypt,Tunisa,Turkey, etc.

It must put people off going to certain destinations abroad but even possibly London over here, certain retailers, high street stores and even certain football stadia within London could be seen as high risk places to go by some.

A really really brilliant place to go in early summer is Sicily, Flashberry. Warms up earlier than a lot of Europe, loads of villas to rent, good beaches and really really good sightseeing as well - Mount Etna and the countryside but also lovely little towns and villages and Palermo is beautiful.

Won't be as hot as Cape Verde islands of course, but depends what type of holiday you're after - just relaxing or lots of things to see as well.

Food and wine in Sicily is lovely by the way, and good value too. A nice little villa, car and it's a wonderful holiday and lots of cheap flights in.

Bulgaria is also a good choice...beautiful country and probably the cheapest in Europe.

Try Varna or Sunny Beach both by the Black Sea.

I stay in a privately rented apartment if you go to booking.com plenty of availability and hotels.
I would stay in Sopot rather than Gdansk only a 20 min 60p ride on the train.
Plenty of info on tripadvisor.
Loads. of good restaurants and bars around £1.60 a pint
