QPR get fair play ruling warning 14:24 - Sep 9 with 13946 views | bosh67 | http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/9462258/harvey-issues-fair Football League Chief Executive Shaun Harvey has warned QPR they will take action if they have broken the Financial Fair Play rules. Obviously as Shaun Harvey says, if this does happen, Tony will defend it. It does seem amazing though. Man Utd spend £60m on one player and spend £350k a week on another player's 'tax free' wages and we are in the firing line for getting done. It is easy to have a go at Shaun Harvey, the guy is just doing his job, but his statement at the end that the league have to have integrity seems to be absolutely laughable. The Premiership is simply about the top 4 teams and their welfare, the rest don't have an even playing field. That is why the Championship for me is much better. Teams like us can actually win it.

QPR get fair play ruling warning on 18:49 - Sep 9 with 2394 views | NW5Hoop | Anything about Man U or Chelsea is irrelevant here, because this applies to the year in the Championship — the FFP rules are different. Hence, also, the sanction of relegation to the conference only applies if we're relegated from the PL. Anyway, it won't come to that, obviously.

QPR get fair play ruling warning on 18:38 - Sep 9 by bosh67 | This season is worth £120m to us allegedly. Our spend balance on new signings is +£16m and our salary cap has gone down. I think, I may be wrong, that we still have about £30m from the parachute payments we were paid, so although £50m would be a big dent we would be able to survive paying it. Either that or next year's season tickets will be £25K a hit. About £800 a game. |
Surviving if we pay it is not the point. It will still exist and we will be permanently damaged by it. There has to be a test case so the whole thing can be kicked out. I do not know the position legally but common sense suggest this is ill thought out and at best needs changing or at worst was a deliberate attempt to set in stone the position of the "top" clubs.
QPR get fair play ruling warning on 19:08 - Sep 9 with 2351 views | MrGrieves | I'm sure I remember reading a while ago that lawyers were already involved and were representing a few clubs. Pretty sure Leicester and Blackburn will be having problems with this too. My money's on a deal being done with the FL. They won't want their prize project being tested in the courts...

QPR get fair play ruling warning on 14:43 - Sep 9 by Northernr | That will rumble on through the courts for ages. QPR will argue that they were forced to honour contracts given out to people like SWP without relegation clauses at a time when the FFP laws didn't exist and therefore it's unfair that we should be punished. |
Too right - we would either had to renege on all the contracts signed to keep within the rules - an impossible position.
QPR get fair play ruling warning on 19:53 - Sep 9 with 2265 views | TacticalR | One of the reasons that Monaco have offloaded Falcao is to comply with FFP. The downsizing of Monaco means that the French League may well be a one-team league for years. Of course perhaps PSG don't care about their own league not meaning anything if their real aim is to be part of the European elite. It's weird because it's as if the European breakaway league is already here, with national leagues beginning to fade into the background, even though the big clubs are still in them. It's all a big annoyance for the Manchester Uniteds of this world who certainly have no time to waste on losing matches to lesser teams in the Premiership. Perhaps Fifa could pass a regulation to stop that happening?

QPR get fair play ruling warning on 20:00 - Sep 9 with 2252 views | bosh67 | Okay, so here's a question. We pay the fine, £60m odd. Where does that money go? Grass roots football? Is it trackable to show it gets put into grass roots football? Or does it go in the pockets of those who created this at UEFA? In other words would Michel Platini show the money being spent on bringing kids through into the game and providing more facilities, in which case Tony may well pay it and look for positive publicity. Or will Michel Platini buy himself a super yacht?

Seems they know it is riddled with holes, I doubt they want to go to Court, certainly not Eur Court, so If I was TF I would be giving the lawyers the green light to turn these pricks inside out and upside down.

There will be no pressure on the football league to disclose how much is given out and who to. It's about time that someone sorts this nonsense out once and for all. How can you restrict owners from spending their own money on their football clubs the whole thing is ridiculous, unlawful and assists in maintaining the status quo.

Financial Fair play was a genius idea by the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to protect them in the champions league and ensure they remain at the top of the game for generations to come. When Man City came along and spent a fortune to go from 17th to champions the game changed. Paris St German as well and now Monaco all clubs with little to fear from suddenly spent a fortune and Europes big clubs sarted to panic. Al of a sudden in England the top 4 were now a top 6 and with champs league no longer guaranteed they made a move. Quite why any club outside the top six voted for this remains a mystery as this basically ends any chance they ever had of competing at the top of domestic and european football. Now clubs can only spend what they earn, Man City and Chelsea can never happen again and those tp clubs with the huge tv and champs league prize money can stick two fingers up to the rest of us and spent 10 times what everyone else can and ensure the status quo remains. Man Utd have shown this summer what financial fair play is all about, as soon as the others can no longer spent they go out and out bid everyone with the most expensive squad in the land. All very fair apparently In our case as Fernandes has said many of the big contracts we gave out were in place before financial fair play was put in place and put in place when a new tv deal had come in which they will argue would have covered the cost. It seems barmy to me that any chamionship club signed up for rules which mean the 3 teams coming down with their tv money can spend to get up whilst they are not allowed to. when this was first introduced the fl and fa claimed they'd share the fines among the "innocent" clubs....wonder whether that influenced clubs to vote for it?

QPR get fair play ruling warning on 18:11 - Sep 9 by daveB | isn't it about year on year losses so debt doesn't really mean anything. All seems like a lot of speculation when no one knows how much the fine is, no one knows who elseis going to fail (Leicester City) and no one knows if we are going to pay if we fail or not. Apart from that it's a brilliant story |
Can anyone tell me if other clubs were mentioned? In the meantime, as daveb states the following is not known & can't be until the accounts are issued:- 1) Have we failed FFP? 2) If we have failed, how much is the loss & how much is the fine? 3) Where does the speculation come from that we would not pay any fine that is issued? 4) How many other clubs would have failed FFP & also have to pay fines or risk being excluded from The Football League? I would suggest that other candiates would be Leicester, Forest, Reading, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton & with the possibility of Leeds, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Watford & maybe Doncaster. If we did refuse to pay any fine (either issued or imposed after legal judgement) then we would rightly face not being allowed to play in The Football League. That is provided that this was imposed on other clubs that have failed.

I'm surprised that the so called innocent clubs haven't kicked up a stink over that. The football league just all of a sudden changed the rules. The barrister who represented Marc Bosman will ridicule the football league in court. This has been supported by the elite clubs as a mechanism to hold on to power. To hell with them!

Yeah the big 4/5 clubs in this country and the power houses of europe don't want anymore clubs in the their cozy little world. The size of the fines the fl want to implement will send clubs to the wall, not protect them

QPR get fair play ruling warning on 08:52 - Sep 10 with 1668 views | TGRRRSSS | This is my view. More and more clubs could be in some trouble with this as stated Leicester, Blackburn, Reading and so on. Apaprently Blackburn are losing at least £2m a month, so there's 24m straight away but could be more.
QPR get fair play ruling warning on 09:07 - Sep 10 with 1649 views | adhoc_qpr | Actually thinking about it, it's not really on for Shaun Harvey to name check us (even if the journalist was the one who mentioned us first), but not anyone else - making us the headline. Also couldn't the owners just 'write off' the debt (since it's owed to them) for accounts purposes and then get it back over time?
