Malky Mackay on 17:24 - Aug 21 by Albert_Whitehurst | Giggs is a liar and a cheat, but this is all forgotten as he is such an inconsequential human being outside of football. If he hadn't taken out the super injunction no one would have given a fúck. He created more controversy for himself the dÃck. Mackay is a loathsome individual and not just on the basis of being Glaswegian. |

Malky Mackay on 23:51 - Aug 21 with 1503 views | Thacks_Rabbits | Well regardless of his stupid statements and lack of foresight - you really can't do anything these days without getting in trouble. The details of how these messages were found, how they were brought about and why have not yet come to light - he may have been enticed to do so - and bearing in mind the current legal case who knows what is going on!!! I will no doubt get numerous negatives on this post but personally I have never been offended by anything said to me on a Football pitch - and a lot of it was nasty, malicious, threatening and hateful - but I just ignored it as part of the game and used it to play better. I also played with both Black and Asian players who suffered similar comments - all be it with racism involved - and they did just the same - in fact it was the white lads on the team that initially took more offence to them - until we learn they were not bothered by it. So in reality it all comes down to words - on the pitch you ignore them and use them - that's the game. Now this was at a low level and I do agree it should not happen in society or pro football - but by the same token Rio/Sol/Collymore/Barnes using every possible opportunity to blame the colour of their skin for failing in aspects of their career or jumping on the bandwagon at the first opportunity should not either. Is Facejacker racist for suggesting that a Nigerian is a fraudster? Is Sean Lock racist for making a joke about dogs and korea or Jimmy Carr or Ricky Gervais - or Eminem and Dr Dre for saying the word N*gger - its all in the context of the word and how it is meant. If you have never laughed at a joke about Irishman, Pakistani's, Ethiopians or the French - that's great - but if you have - watch out - especially if you forwarded the message you got :)

A lot of this post is about you not taking offence about what you heard on the pitch whilst playing football. Just because it doesn't offend you doesn't mean others are the same. Believe it or not receiving or sending racist or sexual text messages/emails etc results in instant dismissal in some jobs. I agree some do play the race card to their benefit and some Nigerians have been arrested for scams but you cant tar everybody with the same brush. Without checking i think Nigeria has one of the biggest populations in Africa, how many of those people will have been involved in any sort of fraud? [Post edited 22 Aug 2014 7:17]

You are correct that Nigeria is the biggest population in Africa. Unfortunately as fraud is endemic almost everybody is involved in Fraud, but usually as a victim, hence all the stereotyping of Nigerians. Most of them actually just accept it is just a way of life although get embarrassed when discussing with foreigners. In the UK there is no excuse for what Mackay has done because we should know better about stereotyping in such a negative light, especially the "Monopoly" comments which are disgraceful

When these things are said to you in your presence and hearing, whether that is in a workplace environment or anywhere else, you have a choice. You can either ignore them (as you did) or you can tell the perpetrator that you are offended by what they say and ask them not to repeat the comments. If they continue to make the comments you can make a complaint to the relevant authority. In the case of Mackay and Moody, the people they were talking about had no idea that the comments were being made, because they were being abused and ridiculed behind their backs. It's not difficult to see how the remarks could be classed as deeply offensive, stereotypical racist comments particularly those about Jews and black people. Now that Mackay has apologised for the comments, he has accepted he is responsible, but that won't be an end to it. He will be forever tarnished by the comments he made and whether they were made privately or not is irrelevant when it comes to prospective employers. I'd be amazed if he got another high profile job in Britain, however good he is at his job.

It's about protecting the brand and public image of the individual club and any club who decided to employ Mackay would have a problem attracting sponsorship and probably players as well. Plus, there would be the unwelcome publicity and likelihood of attracting various protest groups to games. No major organisation or club sponsor will want their brands associated with the kind of comments Mackay has admitted making. Consequently, club Chairmen and Boards of Directors will shy away from employing him.

He'll make some great money though from the Phone-Hacking Scandal which Newspapers had promised they'd stop doing because the Government got involved!

As said there are clubs who currently have known racists playing for them (barcelona and chelsea) who happen to be massive, clubs with murderers (plymouth, notts county, port vale, oldham, forrest green), rapists, etc. So if they will risk it for equally if not worse crimes, then its likely theres a club willing to take him on, it might be lower down than the ladder than his ability, but it'll be a job none the less.

If the phone was supplied by the club, or the bill for the calls and texts paid for on a club account, they are entitled to see how it was being used and the details of that use. No 'hacking' involved.

I've just borrowed an 5p from an friend, and it does indeed look like it has two sides. However, the rest of your post is wrong. The media don't have anything to do with this. It was sanctioned by Cardiff City for the purposes of discrediting their former manager who, at the time, had filed a lawsuit against them which could have proved very costly.
