Should we cash in on Bony? on 10:13 - May 2 by ajmcglashan
Well I do say that its a one sided look at this and acknowledge Lukaku and Suarez as recent examples of players who have performed after a second season. Want to give me some examples of players who have been in the top 5 scorers in the PL who weren't already big money moves?
"Even when I was not happy in the beginning they kept supporting me and gave me motivation," Bony told Sport Wales.
"When I didn't play I sometimes [said] why, what do I have to do to be better?"
Could have been a half fit midfielder. Would have been straight in the team then.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is a silly post ? Someone is actually considering selling the 6th highest goal scorer in the league and all this after he got off to a bad start. I expect posts like this to be more for the off (silly) season.
Without Wilfy's goals Swansea would be right in the deep stuff, simples.

In the article I say I don't want to sell Bony. But it must be food for thought for the board knowing that strikers in the PL often don't replicate an outstanding season twice in a row (Michu an obvious recent example) should they be faced with a large bid. Just a discussion point that's all.

Absolutely not. I'd be surprised if we will ever see another striker of his quality here again. I think some of us still don't realise just how good he is in that role he plays for us.
I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Playing Devil's advocate here, one way to look at this could be...
He's only had a good 4 months. He wasn't up to scratch before Christmas. We are likely to be without him for 5 weeks next season due to African Cup of Nations. If someone offers £20m+ then sell him. We can look to buy two quality players with that money and not be over reliant on one player.

I have never been able to understand -- even remotely -- why it is that every time we have a player doing great things for us, someone wants to talk about selling him.
The only conclusions I have come to are (1) a huge send-up pisstake, or (2) a poster needing attention.
Until a players says he wants to leave, or declines an offer to extend his contract, or demonstrates that he is no longer earning his place, we should keep him and make him happy here.

He wasn't match fit when he first got here, was hardly used by our then manager, BUT, despite this, anyone with a modicum of football knowledge could see he was some player. I would not even answer the phone if i knew the offer would be £20mill, he's worth far more than that to us.
Two quality players you say? Look at our system, then look out there who's available. It's still a massive no from me.

He should have been playing to get match fit.
Again, being Devil's advocate here, if you sell for a high price now you diversify your risk by getting in two players of £12-15m range so that you don't rely solely on Bony. If Bony goes off the boil / gets injured then we are in real trouble. Again, its just an argument the board must have to discuss if a big money offer comes in.
