Swansea 4 Sunderland 0 - How The Players Fared Saturday, 19th Oct 2013 20:17 This is our view of how the players performed against Sunderland but you can also rate the players yourself after the Swans 4-0 win over Sunderland at the Liberty. Michel VormAn easy afternoon for the Swansea goalkeeper as Sunderland never really tested him. His presence was enough to put off Borini shortly after the former Swansea striker came onto the field but nothing to really do beyond that. 7 Angel RangelWhen Rangel is out you appreciate him more when he comes back and we always pose more of an attacking threat with him in the side. His presence led to the first goal and he is a constant threat alongside Nathan down the right hand side of the pitch. 8 Ben DaviesWith Angel on the right the attacking threat is there on the left when Ben is on the pitch as well. He combines well with most of the midfield and is always a willing outlet looking for the ball. Could have found himself on the scoresheet with a little luck in the first half but departed early in the second due to injury 7 Jordi AmatHas come into some criticism since Ash was out but didn't really put a foot wrong this afternoon. Has started to develop a better understanding of our style of play although he was never really tested to any of his limits buy a poor Sunderland side 7 Chico FloresWe all love Chico but after a booking in the first half he could have diced with danger with a foul in the second half that could have produced a second booking. When he is under a yellow card you always wonder whether the red isn't that far away but you can't help but share his delight when he got the fourth. Well, until they gave it to Steven Fletcher as an own goal anyway 8 Leon BrittonLeon does just what Leon does. You know we are a better team when he is in it and he never really lets us down at all. My man of the match once again for controlling the midfield and supporting the defence. Will probably get the freedom of the city for finally winning us a penalty! 9 Jonathan De GuzmanA contender for goal of the month or probably goal of the season. When he scores he scores a great goal but I'm going to be critical as he wasn't really at the races in the first half. Needs to also commit to 50/50 challenges too - cost us against Arsenal and he backed out of one first half today to. But what a goal anyway!! 7 MichuNot the best game from the Spanish maestro. He struggled to really get into the game and quote often was drifting back just to get the ball. Improved in the second half but today was just not one of his better days but that probably only bodes well for next week 6 Nathan DyerContinued the good form that he showed against Southampton. As with most of the side struggled a little in the first half but a superb second half display was unlucky not to be capped with a goal. 8 Wayne RoutledgeRoutledge is frustrating me at the moment because we know he has some natural skill and can terrorise a defender but for whatever reason it isn't happening consistently at the moment. A better game though than in recent weeks but much more to come from Wayne. 6 Wilfried BonyA good performance from the record signing. Took the penalty with a superb composure and held the ball up superbly to set up a few Swansea attacks. Missed one good chance at the start of the second half but another good performance without setting the world alight if that makes sense 7 Neil TaylorAn early second half substitute for Ben Davies and actually looked stronger going forward than Ben. It is brilliant to see him back to full fitness and will be interesting to see the battle between the Welsh left backs develop over the coming months 7 Alvaro VazquezA run out towards the end of the game for Alvaro but never really got involved in the game. Needs to keep a closer eye on the line when looking for a ball through the middle as he gets himself into the positions but quite often strays offside which stops the pass being made 6 Alejandro PozueloI like Pozuelo a lot but he wasn't in the game from when he came on today at all. 6 Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
