If you ever needed proof Strachan would be a disaster for Leeds here it is! Tuesday, 21st May 2013 15:58 Gordon Strachan has left Ross McCormack "gutted" by omitting him from Scotland's 28-man squad to face Croatia on June 7th. Strachan, who is tipped every time the Leeds job is up for grabs chose Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes and Wigan's Shaun Maloney ahead of the Leeds striker as well as Wolves' Leigh Griffiths and Tony Watt, Celtic's 19-year-old striker. McCormack, who suffered an ankle injury and played some of the season in right-midfield scored eight last term but managed 19 during 2011/12. As much as I adored Strachan as a player, I think this decision underlines his dubious managerial abilities which his poor record whilst with Coventry and Middlesbrough more than proves. On the plus side, McCormack can at least have a full summer to rest and it is likely the Serbia game will mean nothing as Scotland will continue their long, miserable record of failing to qualify for a major tournament since 1998 as they lie bottom of Group A with just two points.
