Kenny Jackett is ranked 19th by the ranking process used by the league managers web-site to determine the success of a manger no matter what division he manages at and no matter who his opponents are.
The Tissot league is a new and unique ranking system that assesses managers performance across the board week-in, season out. It looks purely at a manager's performance and not that of a club so that if a manager changes club then he takes his record with him and is designed to reward managers for good defence, consistent results and clean sheets as well as goals.
It was launched last season and was hoped that it would also encourage boards of football clubs to realise that there is more to management then just recent results with a logic that a manager in the Top 20 should be sought after and any discarded from that list should be snapped up quickly.
Launching it last season, John Barnwell, Chief Executive of the LMA said "We had been looking for the right partner to develop this initiative. Tissot's long association with Michael Owen and their timing services at world championship events made them a natural choice".
This season, the list is currently headed for season to date, unsurprisingly by Jose Mourinho who is 11 points clear of Arsene Wenger with Sir Alex Ferguson in third place. However, Mourinho has not had it all his own way, after winning the quarter 1 prize, the quarter two prize was snapped up by Peter Taylor who has led Hull to the summit of League One. Early stages in Quarter 3 but Gary Johnson of Yeovil is currently leading the way.
The overall season's Top 20 currently looks like this
Pos | Div | Manager | Club | TTT scores | | 1 | P | Jose Mourinho | Chelsea | 162 | 2 | P | Arsene Wenger | Arsenal | 151 | 3 | P | Sir Alex Ferguson | Man Utd | 144 | 4 | 1 | Peter Taylor | Hull City | 143 | 5 | 1 | Mike Newell | Luton Town | 136 | 6 | 2 | Gary Johnson | Yeovil Town | 133 | 7 | C | Joe Royle | Ipswich Town | 127 | 8 | C | Paul Jewell | Wigan Athletic | 126 | 9 | 2 | Brian Laws | Scunthorpe Utd | 122 | 9 | 1 | Paul Sturrock | Ston/Sheff Wed | 122 | 11 | 1 | Sean O'Driscoll | Bournemouth | 119 | 11 | 1 | Brian Little | Tranmere | 119 | 13 | P | Steve McClaren | Middlesbrough | 118 | 14 | 1 | Brian Tinnion | Bristol City | 117 | 14 | C | Mick McCarthy | Sunderland | 117 | 14 | C | Neil Warnock | Sheff Utd | 117 | 17 | 1 | Neale Cooper | Hartlepool | 115 | 18 | P | Rafael Benitez | Liverpool | 114 | 19 | 2 | Kenny Jackett | Swansea City | 112 | 19 | P | David Moyes | Everton | 112 |
The points in the table are calculated on the following basis POINTS SYSTEM | Home Win | 10 points | Goal Scored | 2 points | Away Win | 12 points | Winning Margin per goal | 1 points | Home Draw | 5 points | Consecutively Unbeaten per match | 1 points | Away Draw | 6 points | Clean Sheet | 1 points | Points are divided by the number of games played. This number is then multiplied by ten - to exclude decimals - producing the final TTT (Tissot Top Twenty) score. |
