Can Leeds Chop the Barnsley bogey? Friday, 5th Oct 2012 08:22 As bogey sides come, Barnsley are right up there with the best of them. Last season, the Tykes completed a double over Leeds in a matter of weeks including a 4-1 festive time drubbing at Oakwell. When I was driving back from our gritty win over Forest a fortnight ago I listened with some trepidation as they rattled up a 5-0 win at Birmingham. However they lie in 17th after a disappointing midweek defeat against Peterborough and former Neil Warnock charge Keith Hill has wound his players-up nicely telling them to go to Leeds and pull-off a typical Barnsley spoiling job and do it for the fans. Warnock paid tribute to Hill, the player he had with him at Plymouth, as maturing into a level-headed manager as he was a bit of a lad as a player. Hill has done a good job on a limited budget at Barnsley and in Craig Davies, a former Manchester City youngster who has trawled the lower leagues before settling at Oakwell, Leeds ever iffy defence will face one of the Championship's in form forwards. I appreciate the words of Neil Warnock that Leeds have a different mentality now to that of six months ago but we are still conceding far too many goals, however I think we will see Warnock end the hoodoo against one of his many former clubs and we will just edge it and go into the internation break with a win....my prediction 3-2.
