Neil Warnock insists that he is not at loggerheads with Ken Bates over his summer transfer kitty, despite one Internet blogger claiming the parting of the wave is imminent.

Even the Yorkshire Evening Post has twice in the last week almost echoed the thoughts of the most anxious supporter, urging Bates to splash the cash 10 days after one and only signing so far Jason Pearce arrived in West Yorkshire. Leeds are reported to be waiting on a decision whether or Pearce's close friend and former Pompey team-mate Joel Ward will be the second player from Fratton Park to join up. Pundits have also been linking Luke Varney, David Norris and Greg Halford as part of a massive raid on the crisis it south coast club.

Derby's Paul Green and out-of-contract El Hadj Diouf have also been rumoured to be close to signing to Leeds.

Then there is the matter of new contracts offered to the likes of Robert Snodgrass, Ross McCormack and Aidy Whites. The latest rumours suggest Leeds are close to getting an answer from the Scots but White is reportedly a target for Arsenal. Leeds would get compensation for the out-of-contract White due to his age.

Warnock, who apparently will be holidaying for the last couple of weeks in May insists he is happy with the funds available to him and is engaged in what many many may think is mission impossible, picking up hungry young players for a bargain. Bates repeatedly has bemoaned how difficult it is to do business due to players and agents going away on holiday and clearly is trying to quell the high expectations the Leeds fans are craving on the new signings front. Forgive the cliches but one swallow does not make a summer and time will indeed tell whether or not we will emerge from a long but not so hot summer with a squad capable of making a push for promotion.

Well this holiday in the mean time is just far fetched, if any of these qualities of NW are true then he will not be be holding his horses at the mean time. But to the core we have some advantage here; this is LEEDS UNITED not a BS players in Conference. Tare
