Grayson goes for youth over experience..... Tuesday, 11th Jan 2011 18:55 The busiest day so far at Elland Road in the January transfer window. Leeds have signed 18-year-old former Everton midfielder Zac Thompson following a successful trial at Thorp Arch. The youngster has earned a six-month deal on the strength of his trial and he is expected to feature in the reserves game against Scunthorpe tonight. It was a case of one in, one out as Simon Grayson has moved on Amdy Faye today. The 33-year-old former Senegal International arrived at Leeds in September on a short-term deal, but clearly has not done enough to impress the thorough Leeds boss. Faye was seen as the answer to what was perceived as our weak midfield, which was crying out for a holding-type player. Faye brought a wealth of experience to United having played for clubs such as Charlton and Rangers, however he looked woefully short of match fitness in the eight appearances he made for the club. He will now look to pick up the pieces of his career elsewhere. Meanwhile TEAB understands that Aussie midfielder Patrick Kisnorbo has returned to training. Last season's player of the year has not played for ten months.
