It's very different to dislike Neil Warnock as to appreciating what a superb job he did as manager of Queens Park Rangers. His biggest achievement being in saving us from relegation in the 2009/10 season.
A lot of supporters of many clubs will never forgive him for his actions in the abandonment of the Sheffield United - West Bromich Albion match in 2002. After three players had been sent off for brutality (including Georges Santos) he instructed two others to feign injury so that they had to leave the pitch. This ended with the EFL awarding the match to WBA rather than replaying the game. An action that was unheard of at the time.
Before joining Rangers I regarded him as the most dislikeable manager in football, but I was pleased when we appointed him as he was the only perrson who stood a chance of keeping us up. He was excellent for us, but being very good at his job does not guarentee being liked! [Post edited 18 Feb 17:32]

Yes they do have to all kick off at the same time & Sky will be showing all 12 games live.
Obviously, most will be on Sky Sports + red button, but this game has the potential to be promotion deciding. Sunderland, not Rangers! |

I'm in agreement with you simmo. He certainly wasn't contributing much to the game in the first 20 minutes, but our overall ball retention was poor during this period!
I also noticed Dunne giving him a "coaching" session & he grew in to the game from that point. Or to put it another way, after Chair had scored our first goal!
By the time we reached the second half, he appeared to understand his role & looked comfortable on & off the ball. Considering that he has only been with us a short time, I was impressed with how he appears to have integrated with the other players. And vice versa! |

I'm far more confident about the Sheffield United & Middlesbrough games than at Portsmouth next week!

The three attempts you mentioned were off target & the other one was offside & it doesn't matter how marginal! That equates to one goal deby should have scored & we were four in front by then. |

I would sugest that the biggest upset was Berwick Rangers 1 Rangers 0 in 1967.
With Celtic winning everything that season, it may not have been Rangers finest year! |

Semi Finals?
They reached two finals & lost both to Blackburn Rovers in consectutive seasons. This was at the time when Blackburn was the centre of world football! Inside ten years they won the Cup five times & lost in another final, but Blackburn Olympic won it the year before their first victory.
Back to yesterday, I really enjoyed watching the highlights & I'm still to work out how that was a penalty. I didn't know that Liam Kelly was now plying his trade at Ibrox. |

This amount is in addition to the 4.1% annual increase (this year) rather than the total increase they will receive.
The 25p per week is an 80th "birthday present" & was introduced by Ted Heath in 1971. Sucessive governments & chancellors have left it at that amount ever since! |

From memory, the way Rangers chose to sell the tickets caused a lot of problems & led to there being more C------fans than Rangers at the match!
Tickets were sold on a Saturday when Rangers were away to Hull & you qualified by being a member of the supporters club or by producing a copy of the Derby programme. Chelsea were at home to Liverpool that day, but unfortunately that game was postponed due to the weather & so thousands of them were around Shepherds Bush.
How they got hold of the programme I have no idea ( I could, but won't, speculate), but it appeared that more programmes were shown to buy tickets than had been sold at the Derby match! They did mark the programme when purchasing a ticket so that it couldn't be reused, so that wasn't the reason behind the debacle! |

Don't forget that they show 3 Saturday Championship games at 12.30 every week.
I would think that Stoke away is a possibility for that , depending on whether they appear to be in the relegation mix or not. |

They appear to now be announced on a weekly basis, four weeks in advance of the game.
It seems that Sheffield United remains a 3.00pm kick off at LR on 1st march. |

I can think of two possible reasons for the late announcement, but would question if either should have applied.
1) Deciding if the injury was one that would have a long term effect & whether he could be nursed to be ready for next season. This makes sense to me, but surely didn't need to wait until the last seconds.
2) Avoid having to pay him until February has arrived. Again, this could have been achieved prior to 23.00 last night!
Without knowing much (anything) about Harvey Vale, for some unknown reason, this was the transfer that I wanted to happen. But then, signing Jordan Cousins excited me! |

I would think that all Championship clubs will comfortably exceed the minimum of 20 games being shown live!
As all midweek matches, bank holiday games, League Cup, opening & last fixtures are included, I calculate that we've featured 21 times already. We are guarenteed another 8, but I'm sure it will be far more than that. |
