Well, he's replacing a chairman who was on £600K a year, so there's a saving straight away!

Boycott the club we need new owners, we are a selling club again!
at 16:55 1 Feb 2019

Can you describe the sort of owners that you'd like?

The Americans have got themselves into a mess. Because of their poor decisions over the last few years, the club is worth a lot less than they paid for it and I can't see them ever getting their money back.

Even if they did agree to sell at a loss, who would want to buy us? The only sort of owner that would actually put additional money in would be a ridiculously wealthy fan who doesn't expect a financial return. Is this likely?

Are you claiming that the owners are making money for themselves from these transfer deals?

Are we going to make a profit this year?
I thought the fire sale was to reduce our operating costs to the point where we could at least break even once the parachute payments are gone.

I'd use the Long Ashton P&R. It's massive, so there's no problem parking and the m2 metrobus runs every 10 mins. It's about 5 minutes to Ashton Gate from there.
It's free to park, but you pay for the bus. For the metrobus you have to buy tickets at the machine before you get on the bus.

The general rule for non-EU players coming into the UK is that they have to international players. If this applies to EU players in the future, then this would exaggerate the gap between the rich clubs and the rest.

Here's a good summary of the process. Would any of our EU players have qualified if these rules applied to them?

For those not lucky enough to see it, a hopeful ball was punted over the top, Dai came out of his area to head it, jumped up (really weirdly, with his hands straight down by his sides), missed it completely and a Notts County player ran around him to tap the ball in.

I work in aerospace and I've been involved in a few crash investigations. I've never liked helicopters. Almost any fault, especially close to the ground, is likely to result in a serious crash.

The Four worst Swansea signings from the last 5 years....

Criticising him for not scoring in his 35 appearances. As he was bought as a Leon replacement, I didn't think we expected any goals!

I can remember following the score on Grandstand. IIRC, did Ipswich go 2-1 up very late on, then we scored two very very late ones?

As I remember it, the last update gave the score as 1-1. The Grandstand typewriter tapped out ....

Ipswich Town 2 ...................

............Swansea City 3

I thought the OP claimed he had been shown account information (including transaction dates), not just public info. If this is true then the bank and the club should investigate.

If these were new owners and managers who had been brought in at the end of last season, we would all have to commend their actions and common sense. However, it's hard to get over the fact that they put us in this mess to start with!

Why can't we have owners whose main aim is the success of the club ?

That's only going to happen if we magically find a very rich fan who has no interest in making any money out of the club.

I've never understood it. If you had that money to invest in something, a small, mid-table PL team was a terrible option. It was obvious that, for a club like Swansea, any slight dip in playing performance would risk relegation.
Based on my years in business, I'd still put down the current situation to sheer incompetence and hubris rather than anything more sinister. I don't buy these allegations of 'asset stripping'. They've just made some terrible business decisions and they are trying to minimise their losses. I can't see them taking any money out of the club this year.

I wish they did think it was 1973. It would be much safer if they were throwing pound notes.

I was there! It was one of those moments when it happens so fast, there's just a little smattering of applause when it happens live, then a big 'ooh' and louder applause when the crowd saw it on the replay.
