| News Comment | QPR bid farewell to Kenny the Moneyball goalkeeper at 12:02:27
Great and very fair article on one of my favourite QPR players of the past few years. Always rated Paddy from his time with Sheffield United where, like with us, he put in countless fantastic displays. Going back to the Championship with Leeds I think he still has enough in him to have a good season and he has always worked well with Niall Warnock. Pity its with bloody Leeds! Want to wish him well in his future career, he was a good asset to QPR and was an integral part of getting us back into the Premiership and dispite a few dodgy efforts last season played a big part in keeping us up there. Sorry to see him leave, but with Green now here his chances would probably be limited, sorry also that he did not get more caps with Ireland. Good Luck mate. |
| News Comment | Can QPR summon spirit of Holloway’s cast offs for Stoke visit? History at 11:00:57
Ok, Spaghetti, your mathamatically correct in saying that the Stoke game is not a "must win" but in reality we MUST win this if we are to stay up as its very likely that Bolton will pick up points from their 2 remaining games and we do indeed live in the real world rather then simply a mathamatical one. While Boltons defeat last night was a boost for our survival we still have a lot to do, in my opinion at least a win on Sunday which still might not be enough and given last Sundays debacle would not fancy our chances of getting anything from the City game--- unless the Geordies beat City which would probably allow MU to win the title. Shit! We will leave the West of Ireland on Sat on another trip to Loftus Rd hoping for a win as always but not optimistic that we will be in the Premiership next season. Of course a return to the Championship, while not desired, would probably mean cheaper tickets next season..........every cloud etc. 46 years of supporting QPR, life is never dull but is it any wonder that I'v had 3 heart attacks during that time? Come on you R'ssssss, lets get the finger out and stay up and show the world what we can really do next season!! |
| News Comment | A quiet exit for two differing QPR heroes at 17:09:33
Extremely sorry to see Martin Rowlands depart QPR without having had a chance to play some part in the Premiership. Always admired him since he joined us as a hard-working,unassuming type of player, to my mind one of the best signings made by the club between 2003/2008. Irrespective of what went on behind the scenes over the past 18 months he will always have a decent place in the memory of most QPR fans as we remember his contribution over a long number of often frustrating seasons. Totally agree with you Clive,he could indeed turn his hand to anything and excel He will never be thought of as "deadwood" in my mind but as a decent, honest professional who went about his job in a manner which unfortunately many higher paid players seem to know little about. Good luck to a loyal professional in the remaining part of your career, it was a pleasure to watch you play for the R'sssss. |
| News Comment | QPR hope to improve recent Carrow Road record — history at 16:05:36
Yeah, my day was going ok until I was reminded of that match at Norwich in '76. What a downer that day was--and indeed still is---- we trooped up to Carrow Rd. feeling virtually invincible, all we had to do was turn up! I remember leaving that match feeling choked, could not believe that those turnip crunchers had put one over on us, just felt that we had left the title behind us that afternoon and thats how it did turn out. Agree with QPRski, it was indeed a priviledge to have been able to watch that mid-seventies team, to my mind they played some of the most attractive football of that era and beyond any doubt were the best team QPR ever put out, everyone an international if my memory is correct. Think that the current team still have a bit to go to match the '75/76 squad but we are certinally going in the right direction and it is great to be back in the top flight again, even if it is harder for a long distance Ranger like me to get tickets. In fairness I'm also a bit pleased to see Norwich back up as well and doing reasonably ok, their a well run club, however, hopefully we will get a result on Sat.......... come on you R'rrrsss!! |
| News Comment | Possibly the greatest day of all time at 18:13:41
Greetings Clive from the west coast of Ireland, thank you not just for a great report which really captured the essence of that fantastic day, but for all your reports which keep us long-range Rangers up to speed on what's happening at the Bush. As a QPR supporter since 1967 last Saturday ranks right up there with anything I'v experienced over those long and sometimes demoralising years. After spending almost 4 hours on his laptop my son finally managed to get 2 tickets for Saturdays game. We left home at 6.00am and got into the Bush via Stanstead at 11.30 just as the news about the FA verdict broke. What a relief after weeks of agony to know that at last we were about to be crowned Champions, but what a shower of tossers the FA are to have dragged this charade out so long. Looking forward to next season when I feel that we will hold our own if those with the money allow N.Warnock the scope to buy the players which he feels we need. Suppose that ticket prices will escalate and that all the good-time supporters will reappear making it harder for those who dont need a season ticket but who make an effort to attend a few games every season to get tickets. Not to worry,we'll still try to get over as often as possible, come on you R'sssss!!!! |
