The starting line-up was a mistake. We were outplayed in the first half and lucky to go in at only 0 - 1 down. Much better for about 30 minutes in the second half, but then we ran out of steam. Fer looked knackered. Why he wasn't subbed is a mystery. At the end we threw the point we had fought hard for away. |

Wow! Just Wow! A great start to the season. Fabianski was confident, the back four solid, the midfield ticked over well and we really threatened on the counterattack. Sigurdsson played well in the right position for him. Well done Monk/the Board for resigning him! Montero and Gomis settled in quickly and played well when they came on, and even the much maligned Tiendalli did a good job for us as a substitute for Taylor. With a few more signings to strengthen further, and no Thursday evening Europa Cup games to stretch the squad, we might even finish higher than last season. And who knows - a Cup run again? And we were singing.................. |
