The first time i saw Hoedt play ( and every time I've seen him play since) I've been racking my brain in an attempt to who he reminds me of.... Then the other night it came to me. A player from that classic 80's game... Super Striker. Whenever he clears the ball, I think of that game. Quite possibly the worst centre half I've seen in a Saints shirt. Perhaps like the Super Striker players, it won't make too much difference if his head falls off. |

He'd be perfect if we start next season in the Premier League. The pressure of expecting to win big trophies wouldn't weigh him down, we would see attacking entertaining football and I'm sure we'd finish high mid table. What's not to like? Strachan until then for me. |

Great to read about people's memories of such excitement. My first game was at home to Liverpool in 1983. I'm ashamed to say that I arrived at the Dell with my Dad and Brother as fervent Saints fans, but me as a Liverpool fan!!! We got to the ground about 12.00 and by 12.30 I realised how important and meaningful it was to support your home team. I was hooked from that moment. Maybe the Gods were smiling down that day as Steve Moran and a double from Nick Holmes, saw us to a memorable 3-2 victory over an incredible Liverpool team. |

If they had gone about it in the right manner, it's quite possible Reed may have played ball. But the question is.... Would or do Liverpool want to pay £70/80 million? Who knows! For me the market value means sweet FA. A players worth is determined by how much the selling club will allow him to leave for. |

I agree with u Saintpp. Fickle fans get the mood around the whole stadium on the downer. Probably the same fans who would boo the likes of Pelle one minute, then lauding him the next. However, Forster in my opinion is simply not good enough, the likes of Redmond and Long's games are built on taking players on, they don't do this enough! We do need 3/4 decent replacements and in particular creativity in the midfield and a class centre back to replace Van Dijk. |
