Saw Phil Parkes score one from his goal area with a drop kick in the 70's think it was against Leicester on a windy day down the bush it did one bounce then straight over the keepers head anyone else remember that ??
Peter Green was the reason I wanted to play guitar and get a Les Paul ! The pain in his voice and his phrasing on solos was unique "Love That burns" still gives me the chills another hero gone :(
Thanks for the get well messages all bolt out of the blue that was but a serious wake up call time to cut out the Ruby's and alcohol and start a new healthy diet god that's gonna hurt !!
Hey all just to let you know if you didn't already what a top man we have in charge at the club. I had a heart attack last weekend and was recovering in hospital pretty low when I received a video get well message from Mark Warburton wishing me a speedy recovery it's these little things that give you a real boost when you are down and with any luck i'll get to thank him personally sometime. The club is great for doing this and have been doing it for years even when Ray Wilkins was our manager he came down personally to St Mary's Hospital Paddington to spend time with my friend who was dying with cancer so top marks and thumbs up to all involved at the club these gestures really are a boost.
A coffin next to a message saying "Bad Luck Q.P.R 82 Cup Final" recently uncovered when hoardings were removed from the wall at Lutons ground on Hatters Way when they built a new bus rail link.
Went to primary and secondary school with Danny John Jules (Cat in Red Dwarf) and was a member of the grove with him in the mid 70"s when mugging away fans like leeds and villa walking down south africa road for their scarves was the order of the day shame he defected to the dark side (chelsea) a little like phil collins did to (Spurs) !!...also at same secondary school with Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia/Eastenders) who was always top in drama classes and I was also a good mate of now dj Gary Crowley
I have a Macbook Pro which is running Snow Leopard because of being slightly too old to upgrade to Lion etc it's an Intel Duo Core and not Duo Core 2 I am now on hard drive number 4 !! I have lost so much stuff over the years due to hard drive failures but have been replacing them myself and then replacing the operation system... the problem I found is that Macbooks can get very hot and you will hear when your hard drive is close to failure by the noise it will be making. My advice to all that have Macbooks is to back up your system weekly using Time Machine and also to purchase a cooler fan pad which is cheap as chips on Ebay to stop the damn thing from overheating.....Mac = Shiny Shit For Posers .... I certainly learned my lesson !
Will Never forget the sad tool coming on here to gloat at us...well Jimbo should you get to see this you can now look forward to years in the wilderness like we did......hope you enjoy your trip to Blackpool ;)
And when was the last time you saw Faurlin make a crunching tackle or a sliding tackle ?? answer never ....we need battlers not a guy who plods along and watches as he did for Fulhams goal and as much as I like him on the ball and his vision he aint what we need to get out of this mess.
Must have done it through a medium then...love him he died last year. Met him at a gig we played at a working mans club in Watford the year before great to hear his stories about his winning goal for Spurs in the League Cup Final against Norwich and his stories about playing with Stan The Man and his antics when they were team mates at Orient in the mid 80's. Lovely fella
