Great game. Dion's Samba Diakite impresson aside, I thought the sending off actually helped us in a strange way, as although we looked pretty comfortable at 1-0, the home crowd had been pretty quiet up until then. That vocal intensity really makes a difference...some more of it at home before season end won't go amiss. Also really nice to see the fringe players getting on and making a difference...more power to their elbows. We have a fantastic squad! |

A cracking match and along with Brentford, the best game of the season for me, despite the defeat. Spirit like that - from team and crowd - bodes well. Cousins’ performance and goal a great riposte to the smattering of cabbages that booed his introduction. He’s a curious one. He appears to be going the way of Washington and often seems to flounder when starting at home but when parachuted in for the second half, he was bang on it. I hope it continues. |

Ditto....an extremely bad day at the office. Would be nice to see Manning, Oasti Samuel and Oteh given a run out against Pompey. Willl be glad to see Mass back in a hooped shirt. |
| News Comment | QPR twist again, Holloway departs - Column at 07:32:45
Most likely outcome with McLaren will be a more flatlining mediocrity and slightly higher mid-table finish, with the squad we have. We’re a mid-table Championship club with gates of 12,000. Perhaps TF & Co. find that hard to accept, after all the staggering amount of money that’s been spent to no great purpose in recent years. |

A great - albeit depressing - piece, Clive. I am sad to see Olly go as I appreciate his decency and the fact that he cares so much about the club. He’ll always be a hero. Social media is a strange phenomena...just reading Jon Ronson’s You’ve Been Publicly Shamed..well worth a look if you haven’t already read it. |

Totally agree with E15 Hoop. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, a change of Manager now is madness and contrary to all the progress that’s been made this season, on and off the field. |

Totally agree with E15 Hoop. I was srunned at TFs comments after the Birmingham game. The club has improved and normalised in so many ways this season and then this...it’s depressing. After all the talk of patience it appears the board haven’t got any. Seems they’re hell bent on b*ggering things up again. |

Nice piece Antti. Think we’ll miss Nedum next season but as he said, nothing lasts forever. TFs comments concerned me, surely he’s not considering a daft appointment now we finally have some stability/unity back.....Stevie G anybody? |

Sad to see Nedum go. All in all I think it’s been a great season. For me (and I’m biased) all the work around Grenfell was the best thing in English football this season, bar none. We have a raft of promising youngsters coming through, with player outlay right down. There a lot of people involved with running the club now that clearly care about it. On top of this, the atmosphere has improved beyond recognition compared to not so long ago. I liked Ollie’s comments praising the crowd for creating an environment where young players are encouraged and can flourish. Saturday was further proof of this - the warmth and support was evident throughout - as it should be and long may it continue. Roll on 18/19. |
| News Comment | Manning, midfield and Maddison v Eze - Knee Jerks at 08:38:06
Four youngsters in the team, two of them scoring..played out in front of a supportive (bar your miserable neighbour, Antti) crowd. Achieved by playing positive, open, attacking football. There has been a lot of change this season, but the team looks bedded down now and our club is most definitely moving in the right direction. We looked to have goals all over the pitch on Monday...amazing! Now to find that 30 goal a season striker behind the sofa in the summer... |
| News Comment | Terry exposed on QPR’s Free and Eze night — Report at 22:57:50
Great result and performance, Clive. No need to spend so much time and effort talking about John Terry, thiough. It makes us look a teeny bit obsessed. He’s not that important. |
| News Comment | QPR's second half rally comes up just short - Report at 22:34:48
One positive is that the team seem to be doing OK without Luongo. I thought we might be over reliant on him earlier this season, but his dip in form, then absence has shown the team can muster a decent performance without him. I too was excited when we signed Jordan Cousins. He looked a great player when he came to LR with Charlton. Hopefully he can maintain his fitness and get some confidence and form back. |
| News Comment | Scowen haunts former club - Report at 22:33:22
I thought Barnsley looked one of the poorest sides to come to LR this season. Even when they had a numerical advantage they lacked the cohesion to make the most of it. Will be nice to get to safety so that Manning, Osayi-Samuel, Oteh et al can get more game time. |
| News Comment | Tough day at the office - Knee Jerks at 22:56:23
One thing that struck me looking back, was the poor quality of passing, especially in the first half. Time and time again we would show admirable energy and commitment in winning the ball, only to give it straight back to Boro. Too many heavy or underhit passes going in front of or behind their intended recipients. A lot of energy expended for nothing. We went out of the FA Cup because of the poor play of Hall/Scowen. I’m not blaming them particularly, but it does seem to be emblematic of the team sometimes (probably just a bad day at the office as I mentioned elsewhere). You can talk about tactics and personnel till you’re blue in the face but if you can’t find your own team mates, you’re going nowhere (just look at England for the past 20-odd years..). |
| News Comment | QPR comprehensively beaten by Boro — Report at 21:15:40
A bad day at the office indeed. I thought it was a great ball in for the corner for their first goal.....inswinging, like a bullet and at a great height (I say this because I see so many poor corner deliveries). The second was a howitzer which gave our keeper no chance. And then we're two nil down to a Pulis team. I think to get anything out of most games the team has to be 'at it' and we weren't. Luongo was particularly poor and without I'm we lacked any real forward impetus....Freeman can't do it all (although he tries to). |
| News Comment | A win away — Report at 14:23:30
You’re a man after my own heart, Antti. As Clive eluded to in his piece, one bonus of financial restrictions has been to see a lot of the angry/depressive/miserabalist tendency move elsewhere. I’m in Ellerslie and can now go 90 mins without hearing a single negative rant. Who said money makes you happy? |
| News Comment | A win away — Report at 09:09:09
P.S. I thought that clapping (and cheering) was the point of it all...I’ve obviously had the wrong end of the stick this past 42 years... |

Better a ‘happy clapper’ than a miserable b*gger. |
| News Comment | Each more surprising than the last — Report at 09:02:55
Good point about Smyth’s movement, Clive. That was apparent throughout and seemed to free up the other attacking players somewhat. Oteh also looked encouragingly mobile when he came on (a real bonus for a team that has looked flat footed). The icing on the cake was Hoillet’s chalked off ‘goal’. Not a bad start to the year... |
