Don’t think the final is there. Decent performance. That corner of the pitch is a real concern though. It needs work and then properly covering to stop any significant rain falling on it. |

Nope, although Armstrong doesn’t get near the squad much for league games now. Horne has done well since coming on at the back. |

Yeah that corner has been an issue before and was one of the parts that was needed to be covered before previous postponements. Visible on the coverage tonight. Wonder why they didn’t do similar work to the centre circle there? Not as big an area and could have helped prevent future issues there. |

0-0 Amazingly still 7th with six games in hand on Yeovil. Nine points behind Gateshead with five games in hand. |

Cieran Slicker, former on loan keeper who played at Sheff Wed in the League Cup, comes on as a sub for Ipswich. |

Irrespective of where the money is coming from, I’m struggling to understand whether there should be any debate that it has to be spent. The club statement notes that last summer an external consultant advised “that the drainage failure was occurring below the root zone and that, ultimately, only a full reconstruction would guarantee a permanent resolution.” To clarify “only a full reconstruction” Now of course, other consultants may advise on other options, but the time has come to properly sort the situation out. It’s been proven that trying other routes and hoping is a false economy. |

It’s the part about the centre circle which prevents that. To dig it all up and immediately play on it probably wouldn’t be possible. |

Comprehensive article which acknowledges fans questions and concerns with detailed responses. Excellent example of how good communication fosters better engagement and understanding amongst supporters. The standard has been set, no reason this can’t continue. Got to feel for the playing side of the club, this uncertainty must be beginning to have a real impact. |

Did his brother use the same nickname as Dale fans? What about the late 80s? |

That’s a long stint. Who were your favourite players from the early 80s? |

Would expect a statement from the club before close of business today about what work has/hasn’t taken place this week to ensure supporters are fully aware of the current situation. It might be that work has had to be delayed due to the cold weather, so it’ll be easy to update what contingency planning is in place to get the York game on and then complete the work before the next home league game scheduled for 25th - a ten day window (move the Stoke u21 game somewhere, anywhere) Alongside that, as per the Trust newsletter, we will should receive an update from themselves on various matters (Stockton ticketing/Sandy Lane closure/pitch) as stated: “ The Trust hopes during the week beginning 6th Jan to put out a more detailed statement on all matters subject to clarification on the above by the Club.” If there isn’t a “detailed statement” this week, we should hopefully receive a further update to acknowledge this and when it will follow. |

If the club seriously want to achieve success in such a project, they should commit to ensuring those currently at Spotland day to day have little or no involvement. Start afresh. |
| Forum Reply | Another Tuesday night rearrangement? at 22:27 7 Jan 2025
Funny how the club can immediately tweet/produce a story about that yet we’re still all wondering what impact the current weather has had on the planned pitch work and what will happen next. Anyway, having checked, Eastleigh, who are also in the next round of the Trophy, were due to play Gateshead on Sat 1st Feb. Obviously we’d hope to win tomorrow, but if we are out of the Trophy we could bring forward the Gateshead home game from a Tuesday night in March to 1st Feb. This would free up a midweek date to rearrange other games if required as well. You’re welcome. Edit: actually, it wouldn’t free up a midweek date as there’s a full programme that night. I can admit a mistake and not require ages to do so whilst mentioning Christmas/New Year as an excuse. In the meantime, here’s some news of another game that won’t take place… [Post edited 7 Jan 22:50]

That we have yet to receive an update on what work has been done/whether there has been a weather delay is yet another example of the current issues. Maybe we’ll get one tomorrow. |

For the existing fans to play a part there would have to be a significant shift to illustrate that the existing fans actually matter. |

“We have had forwarded to us; an indirect question posted on another social media site regarding potential coach travel options for the Stockton Town game this coming Wednesday We have asked the Club who have replied: “The Club no longer organise coach travel and the Trust is not in a position to organise the trip to Stockton at such short notice.”” Sorry, does that last bit make sense?! Questions for the Trust, as they’re able to take them from “another social media site”: When were they advised that the game may be moved to Stockton? (Noting that they have a rep on the club board who could then liaise with those who do sterling work in sorting coaches for away trips) Were any enquiries made at this stage with coach companies about arranging possible travel? |
