Would You Like To See Laudrup Here Next Season? on 10:06 - Dec 23 by Phil_S | So if he sat there and waved his arms about the players would play better Has it ever occurred to anyone that some people express their hunger in different ways Adrian Forbes ran about a lot and was largely shit yet Jason Scotland was lazy in the eyes of money and uncommitted yet scored loads of goals I know which one I preferred in my team |
Not really and what has Adrian Forbes to do with it.Again a post of yore and why do people hark back so many years when we clearly face a fight to stay in this league. Its a perfectly reasonable question or are we supposed to swallow everything a manger does or tells us.Its our feckn club and I want the best we can. Some of the players are simply not up to it. We were 10th we are now 11th but we re not far away from the bottom three and face massive games in JANUARY so we have to dig in and normally this is shown by passion.

No Forbes was not largely shit he was a good player at that respective level and scored some very important goals including the one that took us from the fourth to the third. I don't know why he is routinely insulted on this board. He made the most of his talents by giving 100% effort. If Hernandez, De Guzman or Bony (for example) are relying more on their talent and are less concerned with fighting for the cause that is THEIR problem not Adrian Forbes'.

Would You Like To See Laudrup Here Next Season? on 10:01 - Dec 23 by Phil_S | Why on earth would anyone vote no. Sorry let me rephrase. Why on earth with anyone with a massive dose of reality vote no. 20.8% of our fans at this point in time seem to have fallen into the same trap that befits other football clubs when they reach the Premier League - their expectation levels go to unreasonable demands. If 11th place and last 32 in Europe on top of a 9th place and major trophy finish makes someone a candidate for the sack then we really have lost the plot. Time to go back into hiding, the world is still mad |
Because they may have a different opinion to you Phil. See things differently to you. That's part of watching sport. The number of times I've left the stadium talking to those around me and we all seem to agree on whatever we had just seen. Then I come onto PS and views / opinions are all over the place. Personally I would like him to stay for many of the reasons mentioned here but I can't help thinking that maybe he thinks it is as far as he can go and his interest is not as great. A hunch not a fact!

Would You Like To See Laudrup Here Next Season? on 10:20 - Dec 23 with 1152 views | perchrockjack | Thank GOD for reality posting. Forbes was hardly a great player but he had far more desire than Pablo,JdG and Vasquez. I pointed out Canas before who is up for it and he deserves better. Its also the managers job to motivate players and its hard to do this sitting on your arse

Because Adrian Forbes is always someone highly praised for running around a lot and ignored for being quite crap for most of the time. (I do take that running around required effort but at this level people dont run around aimlessley very often) Yet Bony has a bad game and he is criticised for not being the headless chicken - as was Jason Scotland. We are almost halfway through a season and lie 11th. There is NOTHING to suggest that is not a true reflection of our play and in case it hadnt escaped everyone's attention most sides still have to play Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal etc at least once too. Reality says that our best expected position this season would have been 8th had everything gone our way, as someone pointed out last night we have 3 points less than we had last season and yet its all doom and gloom. It makes no sense Is my opinion right? No. But given what ML has achieved at this club in 18 months it would be suicide for us to even consider a sacking? Having said that I dont think he will be here next season anyway, havent believed that since July

I voted no, not saying I want him out now, I just feel history has shown us that when new managers come to us they add to what's already there and it freshens things up. Laudrup's opinions on management and the development of managers is that they don't spend too long at a club, they move on and gain experience. I don't think he'll be here next season, he's always said two years and I think that'll certainly not hinder us, I have faith in the board to pull out another gem.

Hear, hear. I didn't mean that he should be sacked in the heading by the way, just whether we would want him here next season or not.

I've given my answer already and voted yes (would really have gone for the not sure button getting splinters sitting here!) Maybe those who have voted no, could feel they could give their reasons why, without the personal attacks they are sure to get off some PS posters. Would open up the debate a bit more. Maybe they can "hit the nail on the head" as to why there is a feeling that something is wrong with the team. We lost to a very well organised Everton team. We (IMHO) deserved a draw. Sh1t happens. Just hope this isn't the reason some have voted a "no confidence" in ML, or are 1 or 2 just following what their mates are saying on FB/ Tw@tter etc. Heard one tosser working at McDonalds Glyn Neath say he "was pissed off at the negativity of Laudrup's tactics." You didn't see the game or look impressed when I said you couldn't have seen/ heard the game and questioned if your genealogy was the same as Fozzie Bear.

Interesting that you criticise Forbes for being "largely shit" but acknowledge the importance of his goals then as a counter-argument offer up Jason Scotland! Or bizarre? No-one can tell me that Hernandez and De Guzman give 100% even 3/4 of the time or if they are then that's down to the manager. Or possibly even if their not that's down to the manager not motivating the players. I see Swans as I see Great Britain. Unquestionable technical advancements over the years but could and should be a bit better.

Seriously Richie, get a grip. Someone is expressing an opinion different to yours - if you wanted me to take the same viewpoint then you are not encouraging a debate with your views Accept that people see things differently and dont take them all so personally all the time I expressed my own opinion that you disagree with, nothing more, nothing less but for some reason you cant accept that an take everything personally. I'm out of this debate as well because guess what - it is one. You know me and you know my views but for some reason you have taken exception to them in recent months despite them being nothing more than an expression of opinion Nowehere does it say he should be sacked in the question but come on that is exactly what it is implying unless you think he may just walk away voluntarily without another job?

You're missing the point with some style. The point is you need to read people's opposite views and respond accordingly. Nobody is abusing you here just expressing a different view but you are just hitting back with pointless posts that don't actually oppose the argument in any way, shape or form. And as for the happy clapper comment - if you want to be more dismissive then Iw ould like to see you try - for someone that has spent hours in my company you would know the opposite to be the truth but for whatever reason you have elected to just ignore it.

I would love ML (or someone as good) to stay here and build a real legacy as Cruff did at Barca (something that seems to "eat" ML up, the reason I thought ML would give the "total build" here a go and who knows, he still might.) The problem happens when ML leaves (if he does.) Can our board get a manager who can move us forward again? Can they keep making the excellent judgements they have? Even Sousa (with hindsight, even though I was bored rigid) was a good decision as it taught us to defend, leaving BR with a very solid base with which to work. These are just some of the reasons I am sitting on the fence and erring on the side of 60% saying yes. Once we get back to a full strength squad, who can train for some of the time, then maybe ask the question again. IMHO, it is a reasonable question as it stimulates people to think and hopefully debate.

Even players who we've approached and turned us down aren't doing great things elsewhere. Apart from Lukaku (who was quiet yesterday) the best are average and no better than we have. ML will stay until the end of the season ML will keep us up ML won't be here next season

Would You Like To See Laudrup Here Next Season? on 11:36 - Dec 23 with 944 views | rockin | To be honest I'm a pluralist, I'm happy to debate his position at swans. But for me, we need 'stability' he's not as good as some suggest, but then he's not as bad as others suggest is my judgement. But I'd quite happily have him for a few years and learn from his mistakes, rather than have more upheaval.
