Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread 23:47 - Jan 4 with 37784 views | CamberleyR | Third crack at this, still unbeaten. Going early as I probably won't get a lot of time on Monday to start one. Think they'll bring the run of wins to an end but we'll get something in an entertaining Desmond. Frey and Chair for us.

I think he's shrugged off the shoulder problem. We have a great chance of leaving the relegation fight behind. 3-1 to us, I reckon.
Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 23:35 - Jan 5 with 3155 views | queensparker | Going for Jimmy Dunne to score and a win after banking a rare bet twice at great odds and then bottling it against Watford If it comes in again then a campaign to have a statue will shortly follow
Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 06:20 - Jan 6 with 2950 views | Malintabuk | Not going to make it tonight think the Watford soaking as done me as I'm full of the lurg.... Going against the grain here I would seriously look at resting Jimmy and Sam Field. I know the Fox/JCS pairing wasn't great at Swansea so maybe Edwards/JCS start, with Jimmy and Fox on the Bench And start Colback with Sam on the bench. Bit of a gamble but we really do need to rest these players The result well 1 win in 14 away and 4 straight wins on a trot as all the makings of an away win.... I would take the draw 0-0, keep a clean sheet, and maybe even knick a goal for a win....

Surely if they are rested it would be more likely to be for the Leicester game next week?

Agree. 3 points tonight is the priority. Given the way Luton play, it's possible we could see a back 4 of CBs.
Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 08:25 - Jan 6 with 2744 views | stevec | Luton have got a couple of decent forwards who have scored more than any of ours, despite their position. Worried the CBs might struggle tonight. Hopeful 1-1.

Totally disagree about resting Dunne and Field: with Cook out they are the leaders of the team and are both in great form. We need them tonight against a strong (albeit underperforming) team and they could if necessary be rested for the Leicester game.
Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 09:05 - Jan 6 with 2610 views | bosh67 | Tonight will be a more difficult game than I think we are expecting. Luton will set up not to get beat and we're not great at teams that come to do that. But... It is time for Jimmy Dunne to exorcise the ghost of the Luton comms a few seasons ago when they made fun of his bad injury. Time to put a few goals past them Jimmy in your current form!

Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 09:16 - Jan 6 with 2570 views | ngbqpr | So is it just me that, despite the evidence of 25 games, still thinks Luton are a top 8 team who've wandered into a false position by mistake and are about to start tearing up the league any minute, and that minute could well be tonight?

Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 09:22 - Jan 6 with 2551 views | DaBurgh | I can confirm that Jimmy will indeed play tonight. From what I've gathered, many of Luton's own fans would debate that. They seem to see Edwards as the problem but he signed a long term contract last summer. That said, they are in a false league position. Tonight will no doubt be a difficult game but I think we'll manage to secure a tight win. 2-1.

I believe doughty is might be back but hoping he won't be as he's very good and he's only one who supplies crosses for morris and adebayo. Still worried that fat boy morris will bully jcs and definitely fox! Need dunne at cb for this one with cook out. As long as we win as I can't stand luton and their dickhead fans [Post edited 6 Jan 9:48]

It's definitely going to be a difficult game. I'd possibly go with Ashby, Dunne, Edwards and Paal at the back, then if necessary bring on Fox and JCS to rest Dunne and Paal. Don't want to overdo Fox or JCS given their injury issues. I would imagine that Smyth is knackered given his work rate and number of games but if he's good to go tonight I'd keep him in. Same for Morgan.
Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 11:03 - Jan 6 with 2273 views | Pdog | Hope we go as full strengh as we can which may mean a back 4 of Dunne, JCS, Edwards, Paal. Ask the lads for one final push to dig deep and go all in for the win which would give us a great buffer as said. Then wholesale changes next week against Leicester, effectivly giving the key players 11 days rest to recharge ahead of big (winnable) games against Plymouth and Hull. [Post edited 6 Jan 11:05]

I don’t want to see wholesale changes for the Leicester cup game - rest a couple of players yes and give a few players who haven’t featured recently a run out but let’s keep the momentum going, play a strong side, &, for once, take the FA Cup seriously. There will be 3k maybe 4K Rs there - we’re not there to see a training game. Anyway one game at a time - let’s do the business tonight first.

Hear hear! The Leciester team selection will be a good test of the management team's respect for all the fans who have stuck by the team (and the manager) with almost superhuman vitality when it hans't deserved it. Why don't we go there for the first time in decades and try to causde a f*cking upset?

Age old debate, I know, but we can't just throw away the FA Cup every year. I know we will probably lose even with a full side, but so what. We are a football club. Our reason for being is to try and win trophies. So try and win them.

Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread on 13:15 - Jan 6 with 1828 views | francisbowles | The cup match is an opportunity to rest a couple and get serious minutes into Colback, Edwards, Walsh and anyone else who needs them. We will still field a decent team. Leicester, however, may make multiple changes to protect their relegation threatened squad.

Sorry Ned but we have played 4 games in 11 days over Christmas and Jimmy I think as played every minute of those games, and Sam Field started every game We flogged Cook to the point of where we are now months without him We have a chance of replacing Jimmy with a very competent championship CB with quite alot of games under his belt, not giving a rookie a game. Replacing Field with an experienced like for like player As said we could put them on the bench and even give them a run out if required But you are right there will be a weakened team played at Leicester and they will most likely be rested then. Just hope this will not be a case of if only we did....

Leicester will definitely make loads of changes as they play Palace the following Wednesday. However, they will still have a strong team out when they can call on the likes of Daka, Iversen, Choudhury, Skipp, Cordova-Reid and Faes. With a three-game week to follow the Leicester match, I'd have our key players on the bench, as the three games afterwards are all winnable/games where we should be looking to pick up points.
