Of all the contributions in this fine thread this is the one that’s blown my mind (apt for a sniping anecdote) I’m imagining Dr. Ruth in a little foxhole with a bit of down time wondering on ways to spice up a jaded marriage then spotting her target - aim - shoot! job done - then back to ruminating on ways to fix a floppy dick.
Reading the stories of concentration camp survivors there was a proper pecking order in the early days of Israel and the kibbutz’s - the American Jews generally ran things and took the best jobs - many of the self-exiled Yanks looked down upon the European Jews seeing them not as survivors but losers - they were discriminated against and called Soap-heads.
