loved the old white city for the dogs and banger racing, just a different vibe.

one place i never got to was the wimbledon dogs, me mates practically lived there, owning a good few runners over the years....

Got to say regards the gee gee's, most picturesque location is Goodwood. Stunning scenery. Beautiful rolling hills..

Worked in the betting game for 20 odd years staring in the late 70s, ran shops, worked on course up & down the country.
Once drove from London to Redcar with a pal in the 80s to back one, got beat, drove back to Harringay dogs for the night meeting to recover, bad idea!
Best place is where you back a few winners, me Newmarket Heath c 1996 had the jackpot £11,500 for £21.60 lay out.
Some lovely little courses about, avoid the Sandowns, Kemptons too near to London chavs, Plumpton, Fontwell & Fakenham are worth a visit.
