Is this season written off already? 17:33 - Nov 9 with 9445 views | Jevlar | Knee-jerk thread. Almost definitely... Mentally, to deal with attending more matches (ST - F Block) I've already got us as relegated. I can't muster up the hope to start believing Celar is suddenly going to go on a scoring run, Madsen making a crunching tackle or JCS playing the remaining games of the season. I obviously want to be wrong, I like Marti, and will be at all home games supporting the Rs as always but anyone else adopting this admittedly pessimistic view. I know there are plenty of points to play for, and to lose 6 in a row (which we're close to) is very QPR. Keen to read the views of other LFW and QPR folks on how to approach the rest of the season! Tin foil hat firmly on! [Post edited 9 Nov 17:40]

Is this season written off already? on 17:39 - Nov 9 with 5408 views | Damo1962 | If it looks like relegation, and smells like relegation...it usually is. Seen plenty of them over the decades at Rangers. I'm sure the players won't give up, and all the right noises will be made by those in charge and by those in denial...but we are going to be cut adrift soon. Any recovery from there is beyond these players unfortunately. Thing is, in the past, I was always sure we would recover after dropping...I don't feel it this time.Just don't miss a home game this season...it might be the one we win😉 [Post edited 9 Nov 17:47]

We are done baring a miracle. All we can hope for is we do an Ipswich / Birmingham once FFP shackles are removed in Lg1 and build and spend for the next 5 years sensibly i.e buy some strikers

For the reasons that you state and also because it's harder to beat teams these days (especially when they know you are desperate for points). Oppositions can easily work out your game-plan when you are scraping the barrel and can pick you off more easily. I think we will give it a go but am expecting a poor points return.
Is this season written off already? on 17:45 - Nov 9 with 5337 views | ted_hendrix | You can't write a season of In November, nobody got relegated In November. The league table doesn't lie, our performances and results don't lie and like I was saying to one of my Lads yesterday If your in the bottom three Xmas time you are very likely to be there come the end of the season. If your bottom of the table you are there because you deserve to be and we most certainly deserve to be, I can't see a glimmer of hope at all. No good asking me, I'm more grumpy now than I was at 3.00pm today. We're f ucked.

But the big question is. Even if we end up in League 1 can we trust Ruben and Nourry to make decisions for the better of QPR? On the evidence of this summers transfers in and out , I am not convinced. The owner(s) have for best part of 10 years made 10 bad decisions for every 1 good decision Even if MC stays next year, if Nourry is still CEO and de facto DOF we are much more likely to be in League 2 in 26/27 than back up in the Championship. Ruben & Nourry staying = continued slow death of the club
Is this season written off already? on 17:48 - Nov 9 with 5271 views | Ned_Kennedys | There are 6 months left of the season so far too early to write us off although there are so few positives to cling to at the moment. Most expected a far worse performance and result today. Two weeks now to get important players fit and also sort out the tactics and formation before we play at home to Stoke which is now massive.

Trouble is mate, not only could we remain bottom up to christmas, its quite probable we might not get another point or 4 up to Boxing day. Thats the worry, as i doubt there's any coming back from that at all!

I dont think it's that simple, we can barely financially compete at this level, in terms of ground capacity and income and the way FFP is stacked. Typically you might expect half your signings to work and the rest to not do so. The more you have to sign, the more failures you will have. Sure lots of mistakes and lots of gambles but who we are means we have to take bigger gambles as we cannot afford the cost of the more sure thing, we were not starting from a point of health here, it's going to take a few years to turn this around. The squad was awful last season, it's still poor our best starting 11 is probably good enough but half of them are long term injured. We have players who we can. probably develop over time but we dont have time. At least in Lg1 we are competitive financially. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Is this season written off already? on 18:14 - Nov 9 with 4962 views | rbee | If you had asked me this question on Tuesday night I would have agreed with you. If you had asked me this question on Wednesday morning I would have agreed with you even more as in the cold light of day that Middlesborough performance was completely unacceptable from players and coaches alike. Tonight, I am feeling a little more optimistic as I thought we did ok today. Not a popular opinion I know! We still didn't score, our defending was awful for their second, but overall I thought we did ok. In the first half we restricted them to a scrambled goal. Yes I know they had way more possession than us, hit the bar etc but it means nothing, Dunne went close for us, we restricted them to one scrambled goal. In the second half we pretty much held our own. Sam Field should have scored. Celar should have scored, he had so much time to pick his spot. Watching on the stream I could feel the tension rising at Elland Road as we attacked a little more, there was an audible groan from the Leeds fans as Madsen played Lloyd in behind. We lost, we didn't score but bearing in mind it's Leeds away with a threadbare team I think we did ok so feel a little more positive. Play the same against Stoke and Cardiff after the break and we should get something although against Stoke we have to try and break those invisible shackles that restrict us so badly at home.

Same here, Brian. It’s November and we have a significant amount of players unavailable at the moment. I feel there may be a knee jerk reaction or two on the way, by those in charge. It’s what they do that bothers me. We’re not out of this yet, but it’s grim.

Agree and feel the same. Its very much middle of the road Championship teams through to Christmas and a chance to build, We can only try to remain positive and not fill LR with negative vibes. Enough of those negative vibes man

Dont think he has much say in the matter all depends on his contract length. If he walks mid contract he has to pay up his remaining part unless he can negotiate with our tough and shrewd board

It’s one thing to raise our game against the likes of Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland and scrap for the odd point here and there. Relegated teams do that all the time. It’s another thing to be competitive and beat the teams we should be beating (particularly at home) in order to stay up which we’ve shown in the first 15 games we’re completely unable to do. I’ll continue supporting my team to the end but I fear this is the season we drop.

He really should not answer that question as there is no positive answer. If he replies yes then he is saying to everyone I think there's a possibility of relegation.

Is this season written off already? on 19:00 - Nov 9 with 4478 views | Watford_Ranger | No. I’ll be at the next match optimistic until we’re 2-0 down. I’m not expecting much to change but I’m certainly not writing it off yet. A long run now against fairly meh teams (appreciate we’d love to be a meh team). It’s division two. We aren’t dead. Dying but not dead.
Is this season written off already? on 19:02 - Nov 9 with 4448 views | Loyalitat | Yes. we're firmly anchored to the bottom. We were handed a decent run of home games against sides that will probably finish in the lower reaches and we couldn't win a game. WBA and Middlesbrough being notable exceptions. We had the majority of our better players available for most of those games too. Many of the mid-table sides are on the cusp of the top six and will all fancy their chances against us, especially at Loftus Road when the onus is on us to at least show some semblance of attacking intent. Is this season written off already? on 19:03 - Nov 9 with 4444 views | RsinWales | Last season my thread of hope was attached to the fact that Gareth's approach was not working and the team had some capacity to play better. This season I am struggling to see how this turns around. There are so few goals in this team; the new players, other than Nardi and, maybe, Saito, are yet to prove themselves as effective in this league; we have some significant long-term injuries; and I really cannot see what our style or gameplan are. If the current unintelligible one is the model for our teams at all age groups I am bewildered...and I bet the other coaches are too! I don't want to add to negative vibes, but this is a huge mess. Not being smashed today is good, but I cannot see where the wins will come from. Sorry...

It doesn't matter if it's a battling defeat or a bullshit capitulation, it's a defeat. It doesn't matter if it's again a top team or a relegation rival, we are still getting fked. These are Ainsworth-era results.
