TONIGHTS GAME V HARTLEPOOL UTD on 08:17 - Sep 25 by NorthernDale | Apparently Sassi could be out for six weeks, so Ferguson can establish himself in the defence. |
Well I wish him a speedy recovery but it should now be obvious to the manager, if we can solidify the centre of defence and cut out the stupid mistakes then the play offs are more than achievable this season. We've all seen enough of the squad now to realise that. Hopefully there's a desire from Cameron Ogden to keep our best players and keep adding to them when appropriate, unless its silly money we can't be selling if we want to achieve the three year plan. Inevitably if our good form continues players will come onto the radar - the Hartlepool commentators mentioned they'd advise Gateshead to have a look at Ferguson

TONIGHTS GAME V HARTLEPOOL UTD on 09:02 - Sep 25 with 3267 views | dawlishdale | Haven't managed to see the last couple of games but did hear radio commentary of the closing minutes of last nights game. The home commentators were obviously very deflated regarding Hartlepool's poor form, whilst they also took time to say how well organised the Rochdale team were and how we looked a class above them. On to a home game at the weekend, and hopefully, more of the same.

We don't have to sell players though, Wrexham, Chesterfield, Stockport etc didn't get out of the National League by selling their best players. The Ogden family will be aware of that and unless its silly money it would be a false economy when compared to the financial gains a return to the EFL brings. Keep hold of them and when we do bring players in make sure they are quality additions. This is a project and it looks like the players and manager have all bought into it, the skeleton has been fattened up over the Summer and with further additions over the next twelve months we should be a real force in this league. We need some feel good factor on the off field side of things now but the player recruitment over the last two summers has been very good. I'm not sure what processes we have in place to identify these players but i've been impressed since McNulty became manager. I don't think we're that far from lift off. [Post edited 25 Sep 9:22]

TONIGHTS GAME V HARTLEPOOL UTD on 09:24 - Sep 25 with 3138 views | 442Dale | We do however have a real problem in midfield in the short term with East the only recognised central midfielder available. Burger did well there last night though, so maybe he can fill in again. Will have to wait and see how serious Gilmour’s injury is.

There's also Barlow. | |

We don't have to sell to our peers maybe, but is it morally right to stand in a players way if a team higher up the food chain comes calling? Particularly if the player himself fancies the move? If we were to return to the Football League then a move away would become a less attractive proposition but I still think some player losses ae inevitable. Hopefully we've already identified potential replacements. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Gilmours injury looked like a bad one, maybe a broken bone in his foot, hopefully not. He was visibly upset walking off the pitch. Hopefully Henry will be back next week.

I don’t think that we will cease to be a selling club even with the new owners in charge, but we sell at the right price, no need to panic just to pay off a VAT bill…
TONIGHTS GAME V HARTLEPOOL UTD on 13:42 - Sep 25 with 2320 views | wheniwasyourage | Agree, first time in many years that I have watched the match and felt we were in total control and could score at will. Essentially we did to them what many teams have easily done to us over the years. Game changer in many respects. Thought Burger was very good.
TONIGHTS GAME V HARTLEPOOL UTD on 16:18 - Sep 25 with 2001 views | jonahwhereru | I’ll go Dean Martin and accentuate the positive. Whilst we have conceded 9 goals we have more than 50% clean sheets. The front pairing have already netted 12 goals. With last year’s player of the season missing for over 80 minutes the midfield still controlled the game. In the circumstances who wouldn’t be pleased with the progress. I do think another centre half loanee is now needed as we have no cover for an injury prone player. Plus there is no option to change to a back four, if desired. I posted on here after the Ebbsfleet at home last season that I thought I was going to enjoy the National League. I am doing so in spades so far this season. UTD
TONIGHTS GAME V HARTLEPOOL UTD on 14:17 - Sep 26 with 1134 views | Dale_4_Life | 11 games in and 20 points on the board. 6 wins 2 draws so far. This excellent win on Tuesday (and performance by all accounts) makes the start to the season above the expectation I had the week before we played Boston away in the first game. Credit to the players and the manager for getting 24/25 season off to a very good start. Not going to go all in on Jim, The lad does love the Dale and if we can find a way to score 3 or more at home on a semi regular basis that would be great. Hoping the injury situation is not to serious.. Looking forward to Saturday (Again) and this positivity transfers and we get Spotland rocking come 5pm. [Post edited 26 Sep 14:20]
