Imagine how much they’d charge for a cold beer.

No doubt crap beer too.
I had a hospital appointment at St Mary's Paddington today so as always had a few pints before turning up. Was in the Mad Bishop & Bear. Pint of Pride £4.75. I learned it's 20% off Mondays - I'll go there again. Good scran too.

If s all down to BREXIT, the Far Right, Kiers policy, COVID and a central force of feudalism trying to control us all.

That or some proper thick, greedy kuntz who are pushing Joe Public to see how far they can go before a huge backlash
No chance I’d pay that for a beer in a football ground, I begrudge paying it in pubs in central London

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I hear you but you can shop around in central London. Matchday you're locked in with no other options. Personally I reckon the club are missing a trick. Tie in with a local craft brewer offering pints at 5-6 pounds.

You can't get a beer in Ellerslie road without missing part of the match, so I never bother anyway.

We're heading to Thailand at the weekend, never been before.

I imagine a bottle of Chang travels much better than the Guinness

Local craft brewers would charge even more though

Maybe not have a beer on match days. That might force the club into a rethink?

The grass is always greener.

Could we not have a brewing partner like Fullers, they supply the beer cheap at a profit, the club charges £5 a bottle of decent ale/lager and everyone is happy.

Beer and Beef has made us what we are - The Prince Regent

Fullers pubs, the most expensive brewery run pubs in the country.

Anyone able to verify if £7.25 was the price of a bottle in the ground?

Not a good move these days to like a beer out and about socialising.

Expensive all round.

Maybe stick to coffee these days perhaps !!

Hang on four quid for an Americano in Starbucks. Throw in a sandwich for £5.50.

Maybe the only solution is to sit in a park with your mates with your beverage of choice in the local playing fields....

70s and 80s was a flask and a packed lunch and a few tinnies.

These days will come back if prices keep on their very upward slope

Remember seeing during lockdown walks with my much superior better half, loads of blokes huddled in the pouring rain hiding out of sight with their cans to recreate the pub environment when such things were illegal !!!!!

I have seen a glimpse of future life right there !!!

It's the wages. How much would you expect to earn to make it worth your while to sell beer for about 1 1/2 hours , on a weekend, once a fortnight? People have to be paid over the odds to do it.

A decade or so ago when I had a ST the people in front of me could not go more than 30 mins without a beer.
Would turn up 5 mins after kick off as they had to get that last one in.
Would get up 20 mins later for a pi55 before coming back. Then would get up 5 mins before half time to get a beer. Would turn up 5 mins after second half had started then 20 mins later off to the loo again.
At least they stayed until the final whistle but at the point the talk was of getting down the pub ASAP.
It was like this every home game.

Can people not go a couple of hours without a beer??

Maybe the price hike is some clandestine way of getting people off alcohol.

Indeed, coffee does seem to have become the new black gold. Mind you, I love a decent coffee and on that subject - gasp - I had a very positive experience recently.

Unable to play table tennis at our usual venue, my mates and I went to a local park (in Bracknell where I live) which has outside table tennis tables. There was a cafe at the park and they served coffee, in proper ceramic mugs, for - wait for it - £1.40! It was perfectly pleasant coffee too.

I think the cafe may be subsidised by the local council, but I felt proud of our country in that moment. Here was a beautiful park with lots of sporting facilities, some of them free, plus reasonably priced refreshments. I don't know who said it but a good measure of a country is the state of its public services and public places. Of course, there are plenty of examples of our public services and public places needing improvements - and I'm not going to start a debate on that - but credit where credit is due, things aren't all bad.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I'll take your word for it that Fuller's are the most expensive but their pubs are superb.

Would be great to partner with a proper local business - Portobello Brewery are just off Scrubs Lane. Anyone tried their beers?

Carlsberg 500ml £7.25
Somersby 500ml £7.25
Tetleys Bitter (in a can) 440ml £7.25
Small glass of red or white wine £6.15

Fancy a crap cup of tea, lukewarm bitter coffee, not so hot chocolate or a BSE Bovril? £3.00 a chuck please Sir.
All soft drinks (500ml) are £3.80 and bottle of water £2.85

You can use any of the above to wash down your choice of crisps or a chocolate bar at £1.85 each

When have venues ever not been rip-off prices? All my life getting food/drink in any venue is well more expensive than going outside.

I still don't understand why anyone buys anything in football grounds to be quite frank, apart from maybe away fans who don't know the area they are in, but even in this smartphone era that's quite easy to plan around. Nearby supermarkets or pre-packed lunch all the way for me and have been for years.

I’ve had their ‘Star’ best bitter (malt aroma, biscuit notes, dried apple skin) and ‘Market Porter’ (malt foundation, moderate roastiness, smoked Toblerone).
