I wouldn't swap them now due to Ayew's age and the understanding on how we work as a club........as players and on the pitch then I would certainly pick Ayew all day over Piroe.
I think Ayew would have a field day in this side.........attacking wise of course 😬 He had a lot of shackles on him as a forward under Cooper.

The Championship Swansea versions of both.
Again, the answer is obvious.

Piroe scored more, more goals and assists per minute by quite some distance over Ayew.
Thankfully the poll yet again seems to be revealing common sense.
So are we swapping for goals alone now?
Would be interesting to see what the goals scored would have been if each had played for the manager the other played under.
Piroe has potential as Ayew did at Marseille, he was a fuf under 20 World Cup winner so his potential was higher I would say........Ayew has a terrific record at a very high standard.
I think my head will be scratched a lot if it keeps up with the results as present.

They both played up front;
so goal contributions is the best comparison, combined scorer and provider.
To give the data:
Piroe 1 goal contribution every 146.4 minutes of football Ayew 1 goal contribution every 179.8 minutes of football
That’s as a provider and a scorer combined.

If we could have had a choice of both players in their prime, I would pick Ayew. His all around game was far better than Piroe's although Piroe's goal record for us the last two seasons is excellent

It seems to me that the two operate in different roles and that we need to fill both slots. It when we had Ayew we had signed Piroe or an equivalent I think the play-off results would have been different.

I agree. A player of Piroe's undoubted quality alongside Ayew in the final would have been brilliant

My perception is (it might be wrong) that we spent more time in our own half under Cooper
Common misconception.
We have a lot of the ball, and while we may technically be in the oppositions half, we are rarely in attacking or threatening positions, certainly not as much as you would expect with our possession.
If we take either Coopers full seasons and compare to Russ’ full season we have the following:
Cooper season 1: 940 touches in the opposition box in 52 games (18.07 touches per game) Cooper season 2: 877 touches in the opposition box in 51 games (17.19 touches per game)
Russ: 764 touches in opposition box in 50 games (15.28 touches per game).
I read a stat that the player with most shots this season in the opposition box was Harry Darling. That shows how poor this system is in terms of actually getting into dangerous areas.
Our goals tend to come from long range under Martin, more than most managers. Piroe usually has to create something from nothing, where as Ayew was right place right time and the weight of touches in the box made him predatory.
Piroe often carries our whole attack single handedly.

Wasn't Gixer's point purely about Cooper's team ? He felt we spent a lot of time in our own half ? I think that is a common feeling. Even you yourself said that Ayew often operated as a sole striker for Swans under Cooper ?

Nope.
Which is why he said “more”, it was a comparison between the team Piroe plays in and the one Ayew did. Keep up STID, these silly posts just drag threads down.
You have already been told off for it.
I never said Ayew operated as a sole striker? Where? Lowe and Ayew worked in tandem usually as a front pair.

The question is somewhat unclear Is the OP asking would you swap a 23 year old Ayew for a 23 year old Piroe ? Or Ayew at his peak with Swans for Piroe in his current form for Swans ? Or the Ayew that has just signed for Forest for Piroe as he is now ? 23yo for 23yo - Ayew undoubtedly Ayew at his peak for Piroe ? Ayew undoubtedly Ayew that has just signed for Forest or Piroe now ? Piroe undoubtedly. I think the OP needs to quantify what he means?
