Does anyone know where he is? Completely out of the squad for what seems like an eternity. Not the best player but never let us down. Seems to have been usurped by Hendrick who has literally contributed naff all since he joined us. No goals and no assists. Can’t believe Hendrick is ahead of Ball with the way we have been playing since January. Has anyone actually asked Warburton where Ball is and why’s he not even making the squad? He can’t use the excuse of people being better than him in the squad as we have been so inept for weeks now.

DominicBall @DominicBall6 Ive been receiving a lot of messages recently asking where I’ve been, am I injured, why Ive not made the match day squad? The simple answer is that the match day squad consists of 18 players and I’m one of those that has missed out…
DominicBall @DominicBall6 I train every day, I’m fit as ever and will continue to push for my place as I always do. I absolutely love playing for QPR and am gutted by the teams recent results. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways to give everyone of our supporters a lift before the seasons end :)

Saw those tweets and I am not sure they're that wise. I love Dom Ball, but he is in direct competition with Sam Field in my eyes and that is why he is missing out.
He won't transform this team; its pace, craft and guile we need and those aren't his forte.
Still love him though and will be gutted if he has to leave in the summer...

I don't think anything he says is disrespectful to Warbs, Field, or anyone else. Dom is just making clear he's training, he's fit, and he's competing for his place as he's expected to do. Backs the club and the team. Doesn't come across as petulant or entitled.
Also, while he wouldn't transform the team he could certainly add something. He isn't long on pace, craft, and guile, but he isn't short on endeavour and attacking intent, which I think we have lacked. I'd give my right hand to see him receive the ball on the back foot and drive forward with some urgency, over some of the pedestrian sideways/backwards passing we have seen recently.

Another QPR player speaks:
Is this the same bloke who played on through injury against Forest so we did'nt go down to 10 men, despite barely being able to walk?
Same bloke who has played on after getting his head cracked at home against West Brom and away to Blackburn and Millwall to name just a few games where he has gone up for headers that his fellow forwards bottle and just stand back and look at?
Same bloke who is rushed back from injury because the other two forwards are probably a stone overweight and can't be arsed to get fit, mugging off our loyal fans, hard-working manager and benevolent owners who are paying one of those jokers £ 20k per week to double job, sit in the stand and then head down to the PV as just what he needs in his condition is a few post match pints and a curry!
Hilarious for some but not for Ruben Gnanalingam who's losing over a million a month and paying someone a million quid a year to be 3rd choice striker and media wannabee.

I really like Mark Warburton as believe we are very fortunate to have such a grounded professional who works so hard for the best interests of our club.
I really admire Ruben Gnanalingam as from attending bond presentation, tells it straight, good sense of humour and seems a top bloke, dont know the detail and how his finances work, but I am sure there are many others in his position who might have just dumped the club into administration.
I don't know Charlie Austin, like many Rangers fans I've heard plenty, which I don't really care about, as I judge our players as to the effort they put in on the pitch. The point of no return for me was before Peterborough away in the cup, where I could have turned in more effort, it was when he undermined Warburton by sitting it out in the stand.
I was noticing in games prior to this when he was exhausted after 15 and 20 minutes play, and that night, after coming out after half-time, he was completely exhausted after 10 minutes to the point he could barely stand-up and just had to be taken off, probably to save him and our professional backroom staff any further embarrassment. He climbed into the stand as was just exhausted after having to play 55 minutes of football.
So rather than look at himself and consider where he's going wrong, he then chooses to disrespect a good man in Mark Warburton and a decent owner in Ruben G and decides to have a few pints local as that is just what he needs in his condition. And subsequently tweet to all and sundry looking for a late night curry-house and someone to build a bar in his house!
I know football is unfortunately governed by its own crazy rules, but if he worked for me, he'd be packing his tools and picking up his P45 the very next morning after the Ellerslie Road debacle. And our fans spend all their time digging out players who are doing their best for the club, be they Hendricks, Dykes whoever, its just bizarre.

Mate this is a good post, I agree with just about every word, and it's how I feel as well. Charlie giving it the old "I'll come back if you're serious about promotion push", pocketing a two year deal, enhancing a broadcast radio career, and turning up in this shape and form is grinding my gears as well. That Rotherham incident was poor, and actually coincides with the start of a lot of our troubles which might be a coincidence and might not.
If I may very gently suggest, though, that I think the issue here (and it's not an issue really, but I think it's the point Dave might be getting at) is that you appear on every thread about every other player to turn it back to how poorly Austin is playing. Now, sht as he undoubtedly is atm, it's not purely his fault that we're tanking. Lots of other players are playing poorly, Dykes included IMO. Look at the highlights of the first Preston game this season and compare Dykes then to Dykes on Tuesday. Compare Scotland Dykes to our Dykes. I don't think you can say he's giving his maximum, looking at what he's produced before versus what he's doing now.
This thread is a good example. It's meant to be about Dom Ball. Again you're turning it back to Austin. On the match reports, your comments are only ever "well if Field is a 6 then Austin must be -3" or words to that effect. You accused me of giving Austin a free pass and a 6 every week, I showed you it wasn't true.
It just, I don't know, feels a bit much. Austin Austin Austin. We're allowed to debate other players and their performances too, everything doesn't always come back to Austin.
And that, like I say, is while agreeing with just about everything you've said there. He's been crap and is treated like a 40 year old having an Indian summer when actually he's a well-paid 32 year old who hasn't fcking looked after himself.

I do find every thread turning into a i hate Charlie Austin thread a bit tedious to be honest but it's my fault for biting back every time. I should learn to walk away really but it's like a breakfast buffet I just have to go back for more.
All I'll say is for how terrible he is and how he's robbing the club or whatever his record this season in his 14 starts is won 6 drawn 5 and lost 3. He's made 2 league starts since January in the league (2 draws). The teams record isn't that bad when he starts games. Maybe if he started a few more he might get into a rhythm rather than coming on when the team are losing. Who knows, when he had a run in the side starting 5 out of 6 games in Nov/December we won 4 of them and he scored 2.
I don't think he's been very good this season, he was dreadful at Peterbrough the other month but he's hardly played during the run which has killed our season, you might as well get angry at Jordy De Wijs (who didn't come cheap either) if we're pointing fingers at Austin after every defeat he doesn't feature in.

Fair cop guv, I get your point and you're right, just have an overt sense of fairness and honesty and think I can spot a player doing his best (eg Hendricks) as opposed to one going through the motions and playing the fans for a tune, which I've seen a few too many times this year from one player.
I get Dykes has been below standard in last two games but we do need to give him more than a week to get his match fitness back up to scratch. This is where we need to be fair and consistent, which i get is hard given our current form and emotions.
I've never thought Dykes tries harder for Scotland than us, just he is playing with better players, like when he plays with Willock, players who who can give & go and only need one touch before they pass or cross the ball, which must be so much easier to anticipate and look good playing alongside.
Anyway keep up the great work as think we're in a much better place than we have been for years with the likes of Warburton, Eustace, Ramsey, and have a core group of players we own on the right wages with the right attitude.

I rarely post and I dislike finger pointing etc etc.
But as a one off....
I will take you back to the home Coventry game which is the only game my son has attended and he said no way should Austin be playing as he is either injured, unfit or his legs have gone - compare him to Waghorn who is a bundle of energy, movement and a constant threat - we won that game thanks to the Dyckes substitution and a slice of luck. Has much changed with the Austin situation - not for me....
From memory Dom Ball got the second - I am in favour of Warbs staying but a policy of not including players who are presumably leaving and including loan players who, IMO have a questionable attitude is odd....

One could argue you have some kind of strange love affair going on as you seemingly defend Austin at all costs!
His actual record is 29 appearances, 4 goals, 1 assist. Or 1 goal every 7.25 games. From a starting point of view its 3 goals from 14 starts. Or 1 goal every 4.6 games.
These are the facts. Neither of these justify the significant wage that Austin is drawing from the club, and for which he angled for. But beyond that, his performances say more than anything. He’s done.
I feel for the owners, who are writing even bigger cheques to cover even bigger losses. For zero return. Austin supporters defend the indefensible because sentimental value takes over, and it has no impact personally.
But from an owner point view, the signings of Austin (and Johansen) and their contract commitments will set the club back significantly. Some can’t see it. Some ignore it. Some don’t care. But it will set the club back. And as a fan, that ultimately also impacts us.

True, I do love the man and my love affair with him shouldn't be strange, he was fantastic for QPR in his first spell and loan spell so when someone does as well as that for QPR I'll defend them when they are being slaughtered over their character. I didn't attack Mackie when he couldn't play 2 games without getting injured in his second spell as well he'd earnt a bit of loyalty.
I've said countless times he's having a poor season, Not played well very often but I just think some of the criticism is over the top.
He hasn't scored enough goals this season none of the strikers have really. Dykes has 2 goals in his last 15 starts, should we complain about his wages and transfer fee as well? He's not playing for free.
Gray has a good record but is also overweight and crap apparently.
I was just pointing out the teams record when he's started is not bad and perhaps he's not the Jose Bosingwa character that's he's currently being painted as.
All season he's rarely had a run in the side and has hardly featured in the last 2 months so I find it comical that he is getting so much stick when he's not even playing. May as well blame De Wijs, Ball or Kakay who are also taking home a wage without playing.

Defending Charlie Austin this season must be the 2nd hardest gig to defending Prince Andrew, but fair play, someone's got to defend the indefensible.
Why would anyone criticize Mackie if he was injured? Why would anyone criticize Ball or Kakay for being absolute model professionals ready to run through a brick wall when called upon?
He's rarely had a run in the side because he can't run! if he's not scoring, and he's had plenty of chances he's contributing nothing.
How can it be comical he's getting so much stick. I've never seen a player as unfit as he has been this season. The jokes on the fans, the manager and the poor unfortunate tricked into giving him a multi million pound contract when we're on our arse, and there in lies the comparison to Jose Boswinga.

Prince Andrew now, blimey.
it's really not a tough gig, as i say he's been a good player for QPR over the years but had a poor season. Mackie was the same, that second spell was painful to watch and he got some awful stick that has been forgotten now he's retired and we love him again. Furlong was pretty terrible in his final season as well but had earned a bit of loyalty even Gallen went to pot towards the end. I'm happy to stand up for those kind of people who have done well for the club over the years when they have some bad times.
As i've said before I don't know what Austin or anyone at the club is paid, maybe you are right and he has conned a multi million pound contract out of the owners but I don't have much sympathy for the owners if that has happened, it's not as if they are novices they have been here for a decade now.
Over the last few years I've learnt that sometimes people have things going on in their lives that you don't know about and when their persona changes, they become erratic and do things out of character there might be a reason other than they are an arsehole.

Yeah, hyperbole to make your point but this is bordering on trolling.
