Bloody Sunday on 17:19 - Jan 31 by Flashberryjack | "You can't just set a time limit on it though, people don't work like that. In some places the hatred is passed down through the generations, held on to and it festers." My point exactly. |
Yes and I'm not disputing it either but it's how us humans are. Greeks still carry a grudge against Germany, still trying to claim reparations. Most Brits have moved on, we don't hold a grudge against Germany, Japan or any one of many others we have been at war with. In Ireland though there is still an anger. There are even Welsh people still holding a grudge towards Edward I and cannot let go of the hate for things English!

I agree its just so hard to understand …. Take rugby, if you ask France, NZ, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, and Cymru who they most want to beat, then every single one would say England. Why might that be, i wonder ….? Thats right, must be that everybody else holds grudges except good old England. Yep, thats definitely the right answer. 🤷â€â™‚ï¸

I think New Zealand would rather beat Australia and South Africa the southern hemisphere giants. Not sure what rugby has to do with terrorist though. [Post edited 1 Feb 2022 22:09]

Bloody Sunday on 13:31 - Jan 31 by Kilkennyjack | Johnson has just doubled the UK troops engaged around Ukraine to 1,000. There are 5,000 UK troops in the north of Ireland. Most people think that the demilitarisation of the north of Ireland is long overdue after 20 years of peace, before Brexit. John Lennon had a point. |
Don't forget the IRA are still carrying on punishment beatings and knee capings with over 100 shootings in 2017. This from the IRA who signed the peace agreement and were supposed to have disarmed. NI is part of the UK so not surprising British troops are station in the UK. Don't forget the army have been helping to deliver vaccines in NI.

Police are used in the UK, not the army. Derry will tell you why that is. The GFA has delivered peace for 20 years. Your Brexit has threatened that peace and is shameful. You dont give a toss for any member of the catholic community in the north of Ireland. For you its about scoring points. For the adults, the GFA is one of the great international agreements of our time. Former enemies able to move into Stormont and build a lasting peace. Giants when compared to Boris Johnson, Rees-Smug, and Farage.

The British army can be based any where in the United Kingdom. Just like your IRA can be based in ROI and NI. Never hear you apologise for your terrorist friends who continue to break the good Friday agreement. Brexit is no threat to peace it was a democratic decision. Get over it.

You find both names are used on maps. The Unionist call it Londonderry. The Republicans call it Derry. Strange both communities use the English language. Whereas in Wales most people refer to Swansea , while very few use Abertawe.

Bloody Sunday on 18:54 - Feb 2 with 556 views | jack_lord | What about Bloody Monday when on the 31st of July the IRA murdered 9 people in Claudy? Or Bloody Tuesday when the IRA murdered 6 pensioners in Coleraine on the 12th of June 1973? There is a Bloody Wednesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday with many more appalling murders by the IRA. Sadly there are other Bloody Sundays too.

Well yes, otherwise it would sound like ‘Vlint’ in the welsh language, so double it up to ‘Ff’ to make it sound like Flint. Makes perfect sense. Thats how languages work. Fforestfach helps.
