Swans man to watch
Andre Ayew
Andre is back in the goals
Andre Ayew on Forest “The next game will be a hard one,” said the 31-year-old. “We know there's 19 games left and so many points. “It's a marathon and we need to keep going to the end. The team who is going to be strong mentally and physically will be able to do something great. “But with so many games to play, I think it’s important that we only look at the next game. And we will do that for the rest of the season. “We are doing good but we won’t get carried away. We must keep working and work harder because we've got 19 games left and there are a lot of points to play for and get before we can think about anything.”
Forest man to watch
Joe Worrall
Defender Worrall is catching the eye of numerous premier league sides including gravelly voiced Burnley. He has only enjoyed being one of the first on the team sheet last and this season. Before that he was on loan at Glasgow Rangers and Dagenham & Redbridge where he scored his last competitive goal. Worrall is from a place called Hucknall.

General observations on the purchase of minty chocolates in Nottingham
We just proved again how solid we are defensively. Rode our luck a bit if you don’t concede goals you always have a chance of winning. We’ll be better on the weekend. Morris must be pushing for a start now. Midfield were slightly off the pace tonight
This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

Smith needs to come back into the side, a few looked off the pace, even Grimes, was disappointed with Hourihane as well, hopefully just a one off.

Lowe needs a rest and maybe ayew...
Whilst there may be a case for resting Lowe,Ayew has been rested for several games he didnt feature against Man City, the Sheefield Wed came was postponed which means he has only played 90 mins of football in 12 days, I think he looks rusty actually from not playing
NO calls to rest Connor Roberts who probably covers the most amount of ground in a game and keeps on running.
IO have said it before these guys are pro footballers it swhat they do.....Id agree with Lowe gettin a subs spot then coming on when the opposition defence is tiring....just to change things a little

But Connor Roberts performances rarely drop,,Lowe was at least average at start season then had purple patch scored goals and looked good but gone to look player he was..the jury still out for me..with him..perhaps put it another way then needs dropping not resting to maybe make him think he not regular starter...as he not performing to levels he was at middle season, needs be pulled out couple games

In fairness to Lowe he is looking crap as we are net getting the ball to him in forward positions, people stating last night Fulton hsaving a mare.....watch the game again see the defensive work he did. Unless we are driving forward and attacking some of these players appear to be underperfoming.
How often did Lowe or Ayew for that matter get ball in advanced positions last night?
Morris when he came on was found mainly deep in our half its how the game was

Lowe looked leggy to me agree was a lot underperforming last night but Lowe has been like it for few weeks now and maybe needs pulling out to make him think he got fight for shirt..that's all point in having strong squad to keep you on your toes..

TBH we certainly rode our luck - with Forest not being up to much they still looked far more likely to score than us until Roberts' goal. The back 3 were ok but Bennett had his weakest game so far. Stunning goal - great 3 points.

We never looked like losing, but a sign of a winning team is that Roberts goal. Be happy.
This.
Some of our entitled supporters are way too quick to criticise. The levels of criticism vs the levels of praise, understanding and buy-in to the programme is pitiful.
The article you posted on our Football Analytics ought to be a sticky. Either some haven’t read it, didn’t understand it or simply prefer to always criticise.
Some are now even calling for change, to change our tried and tested winning formula.
Some of our higher tempo zip needs replenishing. A MGW was the ideal solution.

Not having that about Fulton yesterday, he was anonymous and looked leggy. Grimes was brilliant defensively despite letting a few passes go astray which isn't like him.
Morris when he came on was direct, fast, give their defenders problems which they didn't earlier in the game. 100% needs to start for me.

And huge again in defence.
Yeah agreed, in general I thought he was poor in their third but he is a beast when it comes to defending corners and he tracked back plenty of times to make interventions.
Him and Lowe both seem out of form to me, at the start of the season when Lowe was getting pelters I stuck up for him, his all round game was good and he was creating chances, at the moment I don't think he is, hence why he would be the one to drop out Saturday for me.

Fail to se hoe you can say Fulton was anonymous....he missed a header early doors to put us in front, to quote Leon...missed the flight of the ball despite getting in a good position..he was instrumental in getting Lowe and Ayew in to some good positions with ball.. He certainly contributed, like I say people need to watch the game agian.I want criticising Morris I was just stating he was often to be found deep in our half...such was the way the game was which is why Lowe appeared to be crap as we were not on hte front foot, and driving at Forest in their half very often and they put 11 men behind the ball which made it hard to get through....Like I always say its all about opinions

His header he literally had no one marking him, and completely missed the ball.
Him and Hourihane were very poor yesterday in my opinion.

What,s with the 'entitled'? Our defence was creaking and the only time we looked like scoring was the one (brilliant) header from Roberts. Nothing 'entitled' about calling it like it is.

My point he wasnt anonymous as he was there to make the header, he as I said put in a few good passes to release Lowe and Ayew.
Watching the game again it seems that Fulton was playing as the most advnaced midfielder last night which is where I think Hourihane is better. Look at the goal Fulton is also in the box.
Forest did thier job last night made it difficult for us to play...we still ground out a result. We lack an individual with the ablity to bring a spark to unlock those defences...have done for a whilr really DJ had pace which made us threateneing on hte counter
We didnt look composede at all last night many passes went astray, the defence often just hoofing the ball away from the danger zone....that said another clean sheet, a win and its all in our hands to be in the automatics. Yes it wasnt pretty to watch but there were some phases where we played some slick football. We are still a way off from the "glory" years of our last rise to the PL but we are a team which is proving hard to beat....and that will get us promoted. If we do go up Ithink we need to step up but thats a while away yet.
Still a "new" squad in reality with Hourihnane not "match fit" when he kicks in properly I think we will go up a gear. Both Yanks look promising too..but its too tight to be making too many changes form what has been working up until now.
We won, this is a side that wins, no matter the task. I’ve seen nothing like this spirt in a swans side since 1979. And yes that includes the premier league promotion and all the squads since then too.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Th left side was poor throughout - I don't think Bennett wasn't on top of his game possibly because Naughton wasn't 100% comfortable and Guehi didn't appear to be playing as either CB or full back; Bennett didn't control Guehi the way Cabango does when the Swansea youngster is playing central and Guehi's roving meant Fulton was having to play deeper and cover; Bidwell to Lowe wasn't happening because there was no one linking where Fulton should have been. Grimes didn't get started until a patch in the second half and Hourihane was also no firing on all cylinders. Back three has to be glued together by Cabango with or without Bennett. Fulton missed his header in the first half because he was trying to get power from his neck muscles and didn't quite time the move properly.

We hadn’t played and were rusty. The Sheffield Weds postponement disrupted our rhythm and we looked disjointed. Expect a much stronger and more cohesive performance at Huddersfield.
